Hi- I am visiting Amsterdam this December.
I am looking for places where transsexuals and their admirers hang out. The only place that I have found so far is Lellebels.
Has anyone been to Lellebels? Experiences? Advice?
Any dating advice? Clubs? Private clubs?
If I wanted to be a mistress for a night..any suggestions?
I'll be there for 11 days. Walking, exploring during the day..but the nights are for adventure.
hi , one place that has a very good reputation for lady-boys and also for top quality food... Butterfly Thai Cafe, OZ Achterburgwal 160 . Tel 020 623 20 64. It was Sao Thai before the name change.... geoff
Nursejennifer, welcome to Tripadvisor. Good luck and may you conquer Amsterdam .
You may be better off looking at http://www.ignatzmice.com for all the information that you need. There is also a forum like this one to post questions and search previous answers.
Amsterdam is another name for freedom, in so many ways.
I will visit that Thai restaurant. If as usual, I'll make friends easily.
I so give thanks for the welcome. Traveling is one of my passions. One of my last trips was to Goa, India and experiences from others helped so much.(I traveled up the western coast on a motorcycle)
I'm a little concerned about inagtsmice.com as their focus is on s.x not s.xuality.
Just the openess and willingness to explore has enlivened me far past what most can dream of.
I don't leave until 29 November so all replies are greatly appreciated.
I have read about this Thai place for years. Seen it mentioned in any number if posts or guide books. I have just never understood what it is all about.
Floor shows? A pick up place? A working gal meeting place? Just a regular eating place with a difference?
Other than the folks that go there what gives or makes this place different?
Land of the free.. home of the happy.
ignatzmice was recommended as people using that forum may know places that others generally on TA would not.
NurseJennifer, I will miss your visit by a few days, If there is anywhere specific you want someone to check out perhaps I can oblige.
MrJohnMd, I think I can answer your questions. The Butterfly Thai Café is, among other things, one of the best Thai restaurants in Amsterdam. Every time I have been there I see many Thai people eating there, which is always a good sign. The food is fantastic. But what makes it even more unique is that all the waitresses are TS from Thailand, and very beautiful for sure, but also not for sale. The kitchen closes around 10pm and then the café turns into a lively bar until 1am (3am on the weekends). Sometimes working girls from the nearby red light district stop by for a break or after work. You can have a good time talking to the locals, the tourists, and the girls. All the staff are very friendly and the service is attentive. It's one of my favorite places whenever I visit Amsterdam .
They have a website where you can see photos taken at some of their lively parties, http://www.butterfly-thaicafe.nl.
been to the dam 5 times for total of 11 months..and you think you seen everything, done everything...didnt even know this place existed..that why i love the city..always something new everytime you go..some of those lady boys are good looking..does that make me gay?

Known as the Blue Light District, transgender sex workers are located within the city’s main Red Light District, an area also called ‘De Wallen’ which covers approximately 1 square kilometre. This district is only a short walk from Amsterdam’s Centraal Station.
However trans gender sex workers are mainly to be found in the “Barndesteeg” in day and night, in daytime in the “Bloedstraat” and only part of the Bloedstraat in the night (use Google maps). An actual separated Bleu Light District does not exist. If you are not sure, just inform politely.
To get to Red Light District you leave Central Station at the station’s “Centrum” (Centre) exit, so that you’re opposite the trams. Walk straight ahead and cross the road. Continue for about 300 metres until you reach The Grasshopper Café. Take a left into an alley which runs parallel to the Grasshopper Steakhouse. This will lead you into Warmoe Street (or Warmoesstraat), one of the oldest streets in Amsterdam. Once there, turn right so that you’re heading in the opposite direction to the station. Taking the first turning on your left you’ll arrive at the Old Church of Amsterdam which is the central point of the Red Light District.
It’s told transgender sex workers can be distinguished because the lights in their window are blue/black/purple rather than red, however this is a myth.

You should know: The answer above provides general health information that is not intended to replace medical advice or treatment recommendations from a qualified health care professional.
I recently visited Amsterdam on holiday and one drunken night I visited two TS prostitutes in the red light district, both in regulated windows in the main area. The first was a pre op male. Here I gave him a blow job, his penis was protected with condom at all times and he did not ejaculate. It was for a shot period of time. He gave me a blow job, protected with condom, I did not ejaculate. I then had anal sex with him, me inserting. Again protected and using lube. This was for a short period and I did not ejaculate. The prostitute then removed my condom and washed up in the sink using water. There was no signs of seamen or blood at all. The second prostitute was a post op male (now female) who gave me a blow job protected with condom, I then entered her vagina for a short period and she then finished me with blow job, again always protected with a condom. After, she removed the condom and gave me a clean tissue. I washed hands and penis in sink. There was no blood or cum from the prostitute.
I think I went through with this as I was drunk and curious (i have only ever had hetrosexual sex before), I did not like it and now feel extremely worried and guilty as to the risks of my actions with a TS prostitute in Amsterdam.
Can you please advise as to the risks of contracting HIV and should I be this worried or am I over reacting? Also, would you advise I need a HIV test?
Any advice on this matter will help settle my current anxious state. I will be making a donation. Many thanks in advance.
Your problem is "extreme worry and guilt" related to your boozy transexual experience in the red light district. Your problem is not HIV.
Protected sex is indeed protected no matter whose love canal or orifice your big bopper decides to visit, assuming the latex condom was used properly and did not fail. HIV can't permeate intact latex. No way. No how.
HIV-antibody testing at the three-month mark will provide a definitive result; however, based on the information presented, the primary reason for you to consider testing would be fore psychological peace of mind. I'm quite confident you will test negative.
Thanks for your support of The Robert James Frascino AIDS Foundation (www.concertedeffort.org). It's warmly appreciated. In return I'm sending you my good-health/good-health karma that you are now and will always be HIV free.
Continue to play safe and you'll stay safe, OK?
