DIANA BAYZAKOVA

Dispute resolution expert in the field of telecom, construction, real estate and natural resources sectors with a focus on complex, cross-border disputes pertaining to the MENA and the CIS region/

 Acted as a sole arbitrator, on a panel of arbitrators and as counsel in international arbitral proceedings around the world with an aggregate value of several billion dollars under a variety of arbitration rules (DIAC, DIFC-LCIA, ICC, SCC, ADCCAC and others).

Advised, coordinated and strategized complex cross-border litigation proceedings before the courts in the Middle East, CIS, Europe and North America

·        As counsel in a dispute against major European TMT company in respect of the contractual agreements related to the project in a country in the Middle East

·        As counsel in an arbitral proceeding against a major African TMT company under the ICC Rules of Arbitration in London, United Kingdom

·        As counsel of the oil producing company in Kazakhstan in the arbitral proceedings in Stockholm against a U.S. energy company and a Kazakhstan-based oil and gas contractor conducted under the Rules of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce

·        As counsel of the Dubai-based contractor in the arbitral proceedings against a subcontractor conducted under the ICC Rules of Arbitration in Dubai

·        As counsel in an ad hoc arbitral proceeding against the developer of the residential project in Dubai, UAE

·        As counsel in arbitration under DIAC Rules of Arbitration representing the developer against a contractor of two residential projects in Dubai Sports City under DIAC Rules, Dubai, UAE

·        As counsel of a major bank in the CIS on various transactions involving the sale of its interests and mortgage portfolio in a number of development projects and transfer of rights and obligations in several real estate projects

·        As counsel for one of the leading UAE and Saudi Arabia-based developer on various infrastructure projects in the UAE and Morocco

·        As counsel of the consortium of private investors with respect to their residential development

·        As counsel of one of the largest East Asian construction and engineering contractor with respect to the pipeline project ‘Uzbekistan-China’

·        As counsel of the oil producing company in Kazakhstan in relation to its grievances against an entity over the use of a branch railway in Kazakhstan

·        As counsel of a UAE-based contractor in the arbitral proceedings under DIAC Rules of Arbitration against a Middle Eastern engineering and construction company with regards to the project of ONGC of India related to Mumbai High oilfield
