Is Tracee Ellis Ross Pregnant in Real Life? Get All the Details on the ‘Black-ish’ Star!

On the hit show Black-ish , Rainbow is expecting a little one. And the character’s baby bump has left fans wondering: Is actress Tracee Ellis Ross pregnant in real life ?
Well, the simple answer is no — but the prosthetic baby bump used for filming is extremely convincing, and Tracee loves to flaunt her faux belly on Instagram!
A post shared by Tracee Ellis Ross (@traceeellisross) on Mar 15, 2017 at 5:54pm PDT
In one hilarious video, the 44-year-old jams out to rapper Drake while on set.
“Working my fake belly as I prep for a scene shooting tonight’s all-new [ Black-ish ],” the actress captioned the post, adding the hashtag “#PreggoBoogie.”
Though the belly is fake, the Golden Globe winner has acknowledged the difficulties of filming with such a huge prop.
While stopping by The View to dish on this season’s upcoming episodes, Tracee revealed what it’s like wearing the accessory.
“I have a real prosthetic belly. It’s so heavy,” she said. “I went to the chiropractor because my neck was really bugging me and he was like, ‘I don’t know what’s going on, but it’s as if something’s pulling you forward.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m wearing a five pound prosthetic belly like 14 hours a day, five days a week!’”
The hyper-realistic tummy not only seamlessly blends into the actress’ midsection, matching her skin tone perfectly, but it actually helps replicate the real feeling of pregnancy, according to Tracee.
“I waddle, it inhibits my breathing a little bit, I have to squat down to make space for it,” she laughed. “But I get to take it off at the end of the day.”
Even though Tracee herself isn’t welcoming a baby anytime soon, we think this proves that she’d sport the bump in style!

Here we have the latest in the pregnancy Animated Harem series drawn by JulyViolet and colored by me. Initially, when I started this series, I had BlushMallet as my collaborator but I had lost contact or couldn't get in contact with them enough to have it done but in retrospect, I think JulyViolet is much better at this. So, I went with them to continue the series.
In this series with Tracer, first we had the piece where she is very excited with her positive pregnancy test and now we see her several months down the line holding her very pregnant belly and holding a picture. If you're curious about the photo, what I said to JulyViolet is that I wanted to have a picture of Tracer in a pregnancy dress looking at a photo of her ultrasound. As for the dress, I left that in the hands of JulyViolet who modeled it after Tracer's regular outfit and I think it came out amazingly. Especially with how I added the colors for it.
The final hurdle of it all was the background. Doing it like I did before with the bluish-grey wall with posters and such, I wanted to go further and add a little more items that are definitely Tracer. Such as the British Flag and a spray from the game.
And if I may say so, I think that Tracer would make an excellent mom.
Thank you, JulyViolet, for the wonderful work you've done.
Note: All characters depicted here are 18 years of age or older.

Frequently asked questions by the health professionals
Radionuclide and radioiodine therapy and pregnancy
» What considerations are necessary for accepting a woman of childbearing age for a nuclear medicine examination?
In women of childbearing age, the possibility of pregnancy and the justification for the examination should be considered. The recommended precautions to prevent or minimize irradiation of the fetus include the recommendation from Pregnancy and Medical Radiation published by the International Commission on Radiological Protection :
» In what way do nuclear medicine examinations differ from diagnostic radiology procedures for pregnant patients?
As with diagnostic radiology procedures, the pregnant patient can be apprehensive after a procedure has been performed.
In the case of nuclear medicine, the patient may be even more apprehensive, realizing that an administered radioactive material has been incorporated into her body, that it will be there for some time and that it potentially may cross the placenta to the fetus. As a result of this, more careful explanation to the patient and her husband or other appropriate persons may be needed to put the potential radiation risks into perspective. In contrast to diagnostic radiography examinations, foetal doses in nuclear medicine depend predominantly upon administered activity, and they are independent of the imaging equipment.
» Should nuclear medicine examination in pregnancy be permitted? If so, what actions and precautions can reduce radiation exposure to the foetus?
Pregnancy does not need to be a contradiction for nuclear medicine procedures, in particular diagnostic ones involving short lived radionuclides, provided there are strong clinical justifications and effort has been made to explore alternatives involving non-ionizing radiation.
Since radionuclides in maternal tissues contribute to foetal dose, maternal hydration and frequent voiding can reduce the foetal dose after the administration of a number of radiopharmaceuticals.
Irradiation of the foetus results from placental transfer and distribution of radiopharmaceuticals in the foetal tissues, as well as from external irradiation from radioactivity in the mother's organs and tissues. The physical, chemical, and biological properties of the radiopharmaceuticals are the critical factors in possible placental transfer.
Using smaller administered activities and longer imaging times can reduce the absorbed dose to the foetus. This is feasible if the patient is not too sick and is able to remain still. Occasionally, the sequence of the examinations and choice of radiopharmaceutical can be adjusted to reduce radiation dose.
