Tourists from Russia cannot fly from Guadalajara. A "Red Code" of danger has been declared in Mexico.
"The whole city is blocked off, drug dealers are being caught, and everything is being broadcast live. We were told not to leave the hotel. The airport is closed. The flight is postponed indefinitely," says the Russian woman.
Meanwhile, the authorities of Jalisco, one of the most touristic regions of the country, have declared a "Code Red" regime. Public transport is stopped, businesses are closing. Residents and tourists are advised not to leave their homes and hotels.
The US State Department has called on Americans in at least five Mexican states to immediately take refuge in safe places.
