Is it just scripted as shit? Or is some of it legit? Unsure how much of this to believe
Pretty fake. There is an episode in an early season where Natty is afraid she is gonna get busted for weed so she decides to get into a car accident (fenderbender) as an excuse to be late. As if she doesn't have cameras in the car recording her talking about her plan.
I've always wondered why reality shows get a free pass on doing these obviously fake storylines and trying to present them as real and yet wrestling is so frowned upon in the eyes of the general public because of it.
It's pretty much double, or even triple kayfabe.
they take slight things that happen in the locker room and blow them completely out of proportion
it’s like if you take the fact that AJ Styles likes college football video games, and made his gimmick a college football player who’s trying to get revenge on a video game creator for killing his parents.
You know how Mae Young gave birth to a blue hand, that story line has a stronger base in reality than Total Divas
Justin Gabrial recently talked about how scripted it was and that he didnt enjoy being on it with JoJo and broke up with her because of it. Then he hated how they made him look like a complete asshole.
It is as real as you want it to be.
Very fake. In the first season they made it seem like Eva Marie was going to be Fandango's first valet instead of Summer Rae, but was dropped because she lied about being able to dance; I think it was deduced here, that given the time table the episode took place in, Summer Rae was already on TV with Fandango.
Also, in that same episode, they (producers or someone in WWE) told Eva that Stephanie was mad at her about something that was unrelated to the show. This freaked Eva out and she began to cry for real, but when Stephanie walked in, she was in character and scolded Eva for lying about her dancing skills.
Like the vast majority of reality TV, it's pretty fake. Like kayfabe era pro wrestling levels of fake.

Sometimes I wonder how much of it is WWE being WWE about things.
Like, is it plausible that the day they announced a Women's MITB match that none of the women knew who would be in it? God I hope not, but you know, WWE....

the show has shown eva trying to steal gigs, natty lying all the time, a lot of wrestlers don't like jon cena, bri is a phony, carrano is a bit of a liar, and pagie/the Asian one had pretty bad drinking habits. now the show sets up scenarios and lines. it has some fake moments but this is the fakest season.
Fake storylines, fake boobs, fake eyelashes.....100% fake BS
Its as scripted as every other "reality" show. But if you go into it thinking like that why even bother. I just enjoy it like how I enjoy "fake" wrestling.

Although I have no proof, I have long believed that the relationship between John Cena and Nikki Bella was not real. Even the in-ring proposal at 2017’s Wrestlemania seemed staged, after they won their mixed tag team match against The Miz and Maryse.
In 2018, the couple announced they broke up. Watch that be a big part of upcoming seasons of “Total Divas” and “Total Bellas”.
How do TV shows, stage plays, movies, fictional novels, comic books, video games..etc work if they're fake. You know Batman and Walking Dead aren't real right?

Total Divas has entered its ninth season, and it's still going strong. It's been a raucous world full of drama, ups and downs, and (of course) memorable divas. But how much of the "Total Drama" is real, and how much of it is played up for ratings?
Is anything on Total Divas real, or is it all scripted? What do the stars themselves have to say about the matter? Here's what you need to know about the E! reality series.
Based on the comments we've been able to ascertain, we're learning toward a hard yes. Several members of the wrestling industry (as well as some who have appeared on the show) have come out with confirmation that several of the storylines on the show are indeed fake, and the show isn't exactly what you think it is.
Based on these reports, we'd have to go with yes, you've probably been watching a scripted (yet totally fun) show so far.
Case in point: former WWE Tag Team Champion PJ Black (formerly Justin Gabriel). According to PJ , the show is "about 90 percent scripted." PJ had appeared on the show while dating Diva JoJo Offerman , who exited the series after the first season. PJ allegedly filmed several dates with JoJo, who was 19 at the time compared to his 30, which was something that didn't sit right with him.
He asked to leave, and as such was told to break up with JoJo on TV.
PJ broke up with JoJo, but that's the only footage that aired, which frustrated him. He lamented how annoying it was that he was asked to behave in a certain way for the sake of the show. It's a story we know all too well in reality shows.
"That I just couldn’t deal with," he said. "If it’s a reality show, let me do and say whatever I want. Don’t tell me what to say and what to wear. It wasn’t very organic or spontaneous. So, after I broke up with her, I was like, ‘Yeah. I’m outta here.'"
The reveals don't stop there. Legendary wrestling announcer Jim Ross took to his podcast J.R.'s Place , also taking aim at Total Divas . In a question and answer session, a fan asked Jim if he had known the relationship issues between Nattie and Tyson on Total Divas were "fictitious," as a crossover between Total Divas, Raw , and Smackdown "confirmed."
"You know that the presentation is fictional, right?" Jim answered the fan, basically stating what we had all been wondering the entire time.
Jim has been vocal about whether Total Divas is scripted or not several times in the past, and his personal website even includes a cheeky response to whether the the show is fake on his FAQ page :
"What reality show on TV isn't scripted to some degree? I can answer that... none of them that I've seen."
But as there have been naysayers calling the show scripted, the aforementioned "Nattie" (Natalya) has insisted that it's real and raw."
"There's been a couple of people like Jim Ross that have said, 'This isn't real' or 'This didn't happen'," said Nattie in an interview with Digital Spy . "It's funny, because I'm thinking, 'Gosh, I'm putting my life out there.'"
She continued, but didn't outright say there's no scripting involved.
"Everybody's entitled to have their opinion, but what happens on Total Divas is more real and raw than anybody knows."
So it appears we may be at an impasse when it comes to figuring out whether the show is scripted or not — but we've got a bit more than an inkling inside that says it's probably like those in the know say.
Like with any reality show, it's probably best not to buy into every single thing that happens on Total Divas as if it's truth. You should absolutely still enjoy it, though.
