The Beverly Hills, 90210 star learned that her implants, which she got 20 years ago , could potentially cause health complications and needed to get replaced, but she continuously put off scheduling the surgery.

"I got them when I was really young. And I didn't know that at a certain point they would have an expiration. I didn't know that you would have to do it again," Spelling, 48, told E! News .

She mentioned the issue to her kids at one point, and Spelling's oldest, Stella, made sure to follow up.

"It really hit home for me when my daughter came to me and she's like, 'Mom, I'm concerned. You have put this off. You told me for years now that you need to get your boobs redone.' "

Spelling said that in the years since the Food and Drug Administration's 2011 advisory that "the longer a woman has silicone gel-filled breast implants, the more likely she is to experience local complications," she knew in the back of her mind that her older implants should probably get replaced, but "put it off" for years.

Recently though, with more women opting to have their implants removed and the FDA warning that they could cause a rare type of cancer — and Stella's urging — Spelling said that she's realized she can't wait any longer.

"For health reasons, it's way safer at this point to do it," she said. "Because there's scar tissue buildup, it puts you out there for having long term things go wrong in your body."

"So when [Stella] said, 'Are you getting it done?' I was like, you know what, why am I not getting it done?" the mom of five continued. "Because my main goal, my kids are my everything. So this year coming up, scheduling that surgery, getting healthy — that is taking the forefront. Because it's OK to put yourself first. In the end, it is for them, anyway."

Spelling had first announced her plans to get a new set of breast implants in November.

"After needing to for many years I'm finally addressing my expired and recalled implants," she wrote on her Instagram Story.

And a month later, she told host Jeff Lewis on SiriusXM's Jeff Lewis Live that she's going to swap them out for ones that are "a little bit bigger" when she goes in for the surgery on Feb. 27.

What do you do when your dear husband unwittingly tweets a photo of your bare breasts to his some 80,000-plus followers? In Tori Spelling's case, you own it.
Two weeks ago, the 38-year-old actress was the unsuspecting victim of an Anthony Wiener -esque Twitcident when husband Dean McDermott posted a picture on his Twitter and Lockerz accounts of their adorable son Liam -- with a topless Spelling in the background . Initially, Spelling, who is nursing her newborn baby girl, Hattie , says she was "shocked" and "devastated" by the blooper. But she's taking it all in stride.
"But it's like, what am I going to do? I am a mom, I was nursing my baby... [Dean] was so devasted about it that I couldn't be mad. I mean it was genuinely an accident," Spelling told CNN on Tuesday .
"I would rather it happen now than any other time because when you are nursing, your boobs look better than ever, bold [and] beautiful."

Oops! Dean McDermott still feels guilty about accidentally sharing a photo of his wife Tori Spelling ’s breast on social media.
“Hattie was just born, so this was seven years ago,” the 52-year-old actor recalled of the 2011 incident on the Monday, June 10, episode of his “Daddy Issues” podcast. “And Tori had the big, juicy titties with the breast milk and stuff. We were laying in bed and course, six, seven years ago, I was really new to this social media thing. … It was fairly new.”
The former Chopped Canada host explained to cohosts Adam Hunter and Nicky Paris that he was “goofing around in bed” and playing with kitchen-themed stickers with Spelling, now 46, and then 6-year-old son Liam.
“I took a sticker and put it on my forehead, and I took a selfie, you know, ‘Pot head.’ And then I showed Liam and he was laughing,” McDermott explained. “I put a rolling pin on [Liam’s] forehead and I take a selfie and I put, ‘Dough head.’ … Unbeknownst to me, because I didn’t have my glasses on, was Tori in the back [of the photo], both breasts out because she just finished feeding the baby and I posted it and went to bed.”
The next morning, McDermott revealed that the couple woke up to several photo calls from the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum’s publicist.
“I was mortified,” the Slasher star confessed. “[Tori] is such a champ. I’m not just saying this, I’ve got the best wife in the world. She was just like, ‘Well, they look really good.’ She took it all in stride.”
Eight years ago — when the incident first made headlines — Spelling admitted to CNN that she was “shocked” and “devastated,” but couldn’t stay mad at her husband.
“But it’s like, what am I going to do? I am a mom, I was nursing my baby,” the former Mystery Girls star explained in November 2011. ”[Dean] was so devastated about it that I couldn’t be mad. I mean it was genuinely an accident.”
Spelling and McDermott, who wed in 2006, welcomed two more children after boob-gate. They are parents of sons Liam, 12, Finn, 6, and Beau, 2, and daughters Stella, 11, and Hattie, 7.

In Celebrity C-list news...Tori Spelling's husband, Dean McDermott , celebrated his 45th birthday by tweeting a picture of his wife's breasts.
About eight hours ago, McDermott went Twitter crazy, tweeting a picture of a cute chef's apron that his kids made him for his birthday, a self-portrait in which he dawns a sticker of a saucepan entitled "pothead," and an adorable snapshot of one his children rocking a rolling pin sticker on his head.
But under the veil of juvenile innocence lies Tori Spelling, bare-breasted and potentially lactating.
