Brooke Shields has sizzled in a new denim campaign, four decades on from her iconic Calvin Klein ad which courted controversy given the actress was just 15.
More than four decades after making fashion history (and courting controversy) in Calvin Klein denim, Brooke Shields is once again baring it all in blue jeans.
The supermodel and actress, 56 , is the star of Jordache’s spring 2022 campaign, posing in skinny, flared and straight styles from the brand’s latest collection.
In addition to going topless in one shot, Shields even mimicked some of her moves from her iconic CK ads, striking poses on the floor in Jordache jeans teamed with a ringer tee, the New York Post reports .
The campaign was shot by Cass Bird, and Shields was adamant the images be Photoshop-free.
“It was important for you to see this is my 56-year-old body and to fight the retouching,” she told People .
“I’m always like, ‘You better keep it honest.’ And we did.”
Of skipping a shirt for a portion of the shoot, Shields added, “There’s something about owning your sexuality at this age that is on point for where we are today.”
She’s come a long way since making headlines in her Calvins at 15 years old; reflecting on the “ridiculous” and “shocking” backlash to that campaign in a 2021 Vogue interview, Shields admitted she was “naive” at the time.
“I didn’t think anything of it. I didn’t think it had to do with underwear, I didn’t think it was sexual in nature,” she said of her infamous line in the ad: “What comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing.”
Added the brunette beauty , “If they had intended on the double entendre, they didn’t explain it to me … It didn’t faze me.”
In fact, Shields went on to model for Calvin Klein again in 2017 – this time, in her underwear. How’s that for owning it?
