Do Filadelfii przybywa z Oklahomy . Rocky postanawia trenować dobrze zapowiadającego się Tommy’ego. Chce walczyć o mistrzostwo, które wkrótce zdobywa, pokonując Uniona Cane już w pierwszej rundzie. Skuszony przez promotorów, którzy mówią mu, że będzie najlepszy, gdy pokona Rocky’ego , postanawia z nim walczyć. Ten się jednak nie zgadza mówiąc, że skończył karierę.
