Tommy Dorfman, the talented actress and LGBTQ advocate, first rose to fame playing Ryan Shaver on Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why. But her journey has been about so much more than acting.

Born in Atlanta in 1992, Tommy grew up loving theater and storytelling. After studying at Fordham University, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. While 13 Reasons Why made her a recognizable face, Tommy used her platform to speak openly about her identity.

In 2021, she bravely shared that she is transgender, reintroducing herself to the world as the woman she’d always been. Since then, she’s become a powerful voice for trans rights, working with organizations like The Trevor Project and using fashion as a form of self-expression.

Beyond activism, Tommy continues to act and produce, with upcoming projects that showcase her versatility. Through it all, she remains an inspiring figure—proving that living authentically is the most powerful story of all.
