Tokyo International University

Fly Mir Consulting - 10.01.2021

The founding philosophy of Tokyo International University is “nurturing truly internationally-minded people through Kotokushin, or unbiased harmony”. The essence of Kotokushin dates back to the 16th century when Francisco de Xavier (1506~1552), among others, conveyed Japan’s philosophy of Wa, or “harmony”, far throughout the international community. It is under this founding philosophy that Tokyo International University hopes for the prosperity of a sustainable humanity and thus strives to invite renowned faculty from around the world to conduct academic research and educate our students. Particularly, as we develop all major fields to have an international outlook, we also provide an environment where the youth of the world can flourish and devote themselves fully to their education and research on behalf of the prosperity and togetherness of humanity.

Studying at TIU offers you the perfect blend of tradition and modernity to fully grasp both sides of the Japanese cultural spectrum.

Our E-Track Program provides a curriculum taught completely in English by renowned professors from around the world. Therefore, prior Japanese proficiency or experience is not required for enrollment, offering a head-start for your next step in life.

TIU created our English-medium undergraduate degree to provide international students interested in Japan with the opportunity to develop practical skills in three fields of importance to the global marketplace: business economics, digital business & innovation, and international relations. By 2023, we hope to grow to over 2,000 international students from over 100 countries.

The English Track Undergraduate Degree Program offers three majors:

1) Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics

2) Bachelor of Science in Digital Business and Innovation

3) Bachelor of Arts in International Relations

The Business Economics major is for students who aspire to work in the fields of international business or economic policy. In this major, students learn economics in a composite framework and explore ways of applying their knowledge in the business context.

The Digital Business and Innovation major is for students who wish to learn about the latest digital technologies and develop the skills needed for true innovation in the business world. It contains the key concepts of digital transformation, such as AI, big data, and fintech and allows students to learn practical skills to create new products and services.

The International Relations major is for students who strive to contribute to international society from a global perspective. The central themes of the major include international cooperation, as well as the nature and causes of conflict, poverty, and war. Applicants must select their first-choice major when applying. TIU recommends that applicants select a second/third-choice major as well; in the event that TIU is unable to offer admission to an applicant’s first-choice major, the second/third choice (if selected) may be offered.
