@AlanMenken is a lovely and ridiculously talented human, who has made many many many people’s dreams come true in many ways! If you don’t think you know who he is, trust and believe me when I tell you: YOU DO! He is responsible for the scores/ songs in “The Little Mermaid”, “Little Shop of Horrors”, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Aladdin”, “Pocahontas” and many many MANY more! • Working with Mr. Menken on the first musical episode of “The Neighbors” was a dream come true (the two years I had on that show was the most amazing creative outlet I have ever experienced)! He was nominated for an EGOT for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for the song in this video! Good evening, beautiful people! On social media I see so many of you doing what you can to give to your fellow man and I want to say I see you. I see you medical professionals, I see you janitorial staff, I see you delivery people, I see you amazing humans caring for your infirm loved ones, I see you significant others supporting each other, I see you people making masks at home and donating to such causes, I see you people who are still risking your lives to save and help ho…meless animals, I see you who are fighting for the rights of humans, I see you parents doing everything you can for your children and I see you children doing everything you can to be there for your parents. I appreciate you. And I hope you all see each other. Because when we do our best to support and be calm and be kind we create a better energy and we all need a nice calm energy right now. I’m honor of that I am reading “The Giving Tree” by Shel Silverstein. And I will follow it up with one of my favorite poems of his in a subsequent video. Love to all of you! Stay as calm and loving as you can. Breathe and smile and, of you haven’t, shower. It all makes a difference.

Thank you for all you have done for this country starting when you were just a little girl. I cannot imagine how incredibly frightening November, 14th, 1960 was for you. Thank you for your bravery. You are a true loving hero. Much respect to you ✌🏽

This day was NOT that long ago in the great scheme of things. It is a reminder that this country has made progress, but we all know we still have a long way to go. Please learn your history and make… art inspired by it! The reason I have known about Ruby Bridges since I was a kid is because of this painting. Teach your children about this little girl and about this day. Teach them about why it was a day that had to happen. Teach your children well.

“The Problem We All Live With” is a 1964 painting by Norman Rockwell. It is considered an iconic image of the Civil Rights Movement in the United States.[2] It depicts Ruby Bridges, a six-year-old African American girl, on her way to William Frantz Elementary School, an all-white public school, on November 14, 1960, during the New Orleans school desegregation crisis. Because of threats of violence against her, she is escorted by four deputy U.S. marshals; the painting is framed such that the marshals' heads are cropped at the shoulders.[3][4] On the wall behind her is written the racial slur "nigger" and the letters "KKK"; a smashed and splattered tomato thrown against the wall is also visible.
