Together for a liberated Ukraine!

The Block M in the Karl Liebknecht stadium (Karli) is the place of the active fan scene of the SV Babelsberg 03. The Nulldreier*innen have called this place their Nordkurve since squatters from Potsdam have settled down there in the 1990s.

This Nordkurve, Block M of the Karli, was and still is a free space for different, old and new subcultures as well as marginalised people, for Ultras, skinheads, punks, for migrants, anti-fascists, feminists, queer people and other progressive fans. It is a place where respect, consideration and solidarity are lived and practised.

Time and again, active fans and groups in the Nordkurve have also shown solidarity with friendly fans and activists in East Central and Eastern Europe. For example, the active fans of MTZ Ripo and Partizan Minsk were regular guests. 10 years ago, the information and solidarity tour for the self-governing club and its fans was an unforgettable and still unprecedented highlight of solidarity with anti-fascist football fans in Belarus, Russia and Ukraine.

In 2014, about a year after the Partizan Minsk Tour, everything changed. With the annexation of Crimea and the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2014, the bloody crackdown on protests after the rigged presidential election in Belarus in August 2020, and the genocidal attack on the whole Ukraine on 24 February 2022, it was no longer about football and anti-fascist fan culture, concerts and festivals for the people in the East, but about sheer survival, about resistance against the fascist regime in Russia and Belarus, about Ukraine's struggle for liberation from Russian imperialist occupation.

In order to survive and finally win this fight, solidarity is needed. Even more than ten years ago in the Partizan Minsk Tour, permanent support is needed. SEKTOR M stands for the urgently needed solidarity with anti-fascist and anti-authoritarian volunteers and fighters.

The name refers on the one hand to the term sector for the blocks in East Central and East European stadiums. The M refers both to Block M, the Nordkurve in Babelsberg, and to the Ukrainian anarchist Machno movement, which was betrayed and destroyed by the Bolshevik Red Army under Trotsky.

We, Nulldrei fans, activists, anti-fascists, anarchists and friends with a connection to Eastern Europe, as SEKTOR M, want to inform people in the stadium and outside about the events in Ukraine, draw attention to important campaigns and fundraisers, and organise our own information and solidarity events for anti-fascist and anti-authoritarian volunteers and fighters.
