Well thanks to the PS3 Patch Notes I finally know how the matchmaking algorithm works somewhat. It does balance based on KDR and tries to add each players sum to as close as possible. This would also explain why you can see a bunch of low weeks vs a bunch of high levels.
Apart from this, TLOU Remastered patch also includes stability fixes. Previously, an update added various quality of life fixes.
