Privacy Policy for TipSplitPro

TipSplitPro is a bill-splitting and gratuity calculator published on Google Play by AsterVault Software. This document explains, in plain terms, what happens to information when you use the app. We wrote it for TipSplitPro specifically, so the practices described here reflect how this calculator actually behaves rather than a generic description of mobile software.

Our Basic Approach

The core of TipSplitPro runs on your device. Bill totals, tip percentages, party sizes, split rules and the names or labels you assign to people in a group are computed locally and stored in the app's private storage area. AsterVault Software does not operate an account system for TipSplitPro, does not ask you to register, and does not upload your saved bills to our servers. What we do receive is limited to technical and statistical data generated by the software development kits described further down.

Categories of Information Involved

• Calculation content you enter: amounts, tip rates, tax figures, item labels, participant nicknames and saved split presets. These stay on the handset unless you export or share them yourself.
• Device and diagnostic signals: device model, operating system version, screen density, app version, language, coarse region derived from IP, crash stack traces and performance timings.
• Usage statistics: which screens are opened, how often a split is completed, feature taps, and session length, all recorded in aggregate form against a resettable identifier.
• Advertising identifiers: the Google Advertising ID, if you have not opted out of personalized advertising in your device settings.
• Purchase confirmations: if you buy the ad-free upgrade, Google Play returns a purchase token to the app. We never see your card details.

Why This Data Is Processed

We use technical and usage signals to find crashes, to understand which calculator modes people actually rely on, and to prioritize what gets built next. Advertising identifiers support the free tier of TipSplitPro, which is funded by banner and interstitial placements. Purchase confirmations exist so the app can verify entitlements and remove ads for paying users. We do not build marketing profiles, and we do not sell customer lists.

Outside Providers Embedded in the App

TipSplitPro includes third-party components that collect data under their own privacy terms:

• Google Analytics for Firebase, for anonymized usage and screen-flow measurement.
• Firebase Crashlytics, for crash and stability reporting.
• Google AdMob, for advertising in the free version, including personalized ads where permitted.
• Google Play Billing, for processing the optional upgrade.

We recommend reviewing Google's privacy documentation, since these providers act as independent controllers for the data they gather through their SDKs.

When Information Leaves Our Hands

Disclosure is limited to four situations: transmission to the service providers listed above; response to a lawful court order, subpoena or regulatory demand; protection of our legal rights or the safety of users; and transfer of business assets if AsterVault Software is acquired or reorganized, in which case the acquirer inherits the commitments made here. No other sharing occurs.

How Long Records Persist

Analytics events associated with TipSplitPro are kept for up to fourteen months and then deleted or aggregated beyond recovery. Crash reports are retained for approximately ninety days. Your locally stored bills and presets remain on your device for as long as the app is installed; uninstalling TipSplitPro removes them permanently, and you can also clear them from within the app's settings screen at any time.

Safeguards

Data in transit between the app and analytics or advertising endpoints travels over TLS. Access to the reporting dashboards is limited to AsterVault Software personnel who need it and is protected by multi-factor authentication. No safeguard is absolute, so we encourage you to keep your device operating system current and to use a screen lock.

Users in Europe and the United Kingdom

If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, our legal bases are legitimate interest for stability and product measurement, consent for personalized advertising and non-essential analytics, and contractual necessity for delivering purchased features. You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, object to processing based on legitimate interest, withdraw consent at any time, and lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.

Residents of California

Under the CCPA and CPRA you may ask what categories of personal information were collected about you in the past twelve months, request deletion, and opt out of sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. AsterVault Software does not sell personal information for money. Exercising these rights will never cause us to degrade the app or charge you more.

Age Restrictions

TipSplitPro is a financial utility built for adults and is not directed to children under 13, or under 16 in jurisdictions that set a higher threshold. We do not knowingly gather information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has submitted data to us may write to the address below, and we will delete the material.

Revisions

Material changes will be reflected in an updated release on Google Play together with a revised date at the top of this page. Continuing to use TipSplitPro after an update signals acceptance of the revised terms.
