Part of getting through life is accepting, and dealing with, our weaknesses. Which doesn't mean they aren't still a pain in the butt.
Me, I'm over-sensitive to all kinds of sensory input - and input affecting my sensors. For instance, even in August in our constant ocean breezes, I daren't go outside without my ears covered.
This is, of course, a huuuge pain. When everyone else is out in shorts and bathing suits, I'm sweating with a big fleecy band around my head. It sucks, but the alternative (excruciating ear aches) sucks a whole lot worse.
I'm also overly sensitive to noise. And bright light. Especially bright flashing light that hits my eyes unexpectedly. So... imagine how much fun I am as a companion at a rawk show. Normally I take along ear plugs. Last night I forgot.
I guess I was lulled into complacency by the fact that the show was at a theatre. A play house. A place I last attended in my teens, when I saw some Shakespearean production there. So yeah... I went in plugless. And immediately regretted it. Still... I was up for enjoying myself... until the %$(*&$%(&ing light show started.
I can't imagine whose idea it was to flash big spotlights directly into the audience's eyes repeatedly throughout the night. Probably the same wise person who decided a super-bright sign behind the band... illuminated by 10,000 1,000 watt bulbs... was also a very good thing to flash repeatedly in the audience's eyes.
What really amazed me was that no one else seemed bothered. Whereas I was in several sorts of agony all night.
The bright flashing lights. Fuck, man. I thought I was gonna have a seizure or something. I ended up spending most of the night doubled over with my head in my lap, eyes closed, hands clamped over my face. Every time I tried to enjoy actually watching the band... zappo! Unexpected blasts of super-bright white light set off pinball explosions in my brain.
So today is pretty much a write-off. Migraine city, man.
And I HATE HATE HATE that my body is so delicate.
I'm from sturdy peasant stock. Why am I so fragile? Why do things that normal people take in stride disable me?
Sorry for the whining self-pity. Kee-rist. At least I know, without a doubt, that I am now too old for rawk shows. Goodbye youth. Your time has come and gone. From now on I'll just satisfy myself by listening to records at home.

Every time I drive towards Winnats Pass I look at this little battered tree stood on its own mount overlooking the Eldon Quarry. It's a peculiar place, isolated and private, pretty well devoid of any life. There really is little flora or fauna within the hole, that is the bottom of the quarry. It's moonlike down there, but surrounded by towering cliffs. Surprisingly it doesn't fill with water. I suppose I know why. Someone pulled the plug out, and I found it. It was literally the only object I saw on the quarry floor, but euuuww, pink, rubber but with spikey ribbed bits. OMG it's a butt plug!!!! Isn't it??? Don't touch it, you don't know where it's been. I'm no expert with such items but I guessed that it was probably about the right size to cause just the right amount of pain. Someone has since suggested it is a dog teether. I do hope Fido hasn't been conned. But sometimes, you just wonder about the things you chance upon on a walk in the cuntryside. Happy tree-mendous Tuesday
Last week, I bought three face appliers with one a fatpack as I can't decide which one that I wanted and plus a body applier too. I was so bored with my current face and skin colour. Beside I need to put some tan on it as I look so pale. I'm so happy with my purchased and I look healthy too LOL.
During the process of trying the demo, buying, wearing and taking this photo, I saw my friend was off and on for a numerous time for about an hour or more. I was wondering what was going on and I thought she was crashing until I imed her and asked. She told me, she was having issues with the sound. She can't hear a song / tune. Oh, she loves going to a club and dance. She always asked me to join her which I did once but after that I declined because there's so much thing to do around SL until she didn't ask me any more. Anyway, I told her to go to the pref and do the setting step by step. She said she did all the things that I told her to do but it is still not working. After, a while she told me that she will reboot her computer. I told her to let me know how it is.
Then I went to have this photo taken with my new look somewhere on a beach. I saw her came online. She imed me immediately and told me there's nothing wrong with her setting. The thing is, she forgot to turn up her volume! She cursed herself and I laughed so hard! Ah my friend Havana lol!
So this week, after fighting through the lag at Addams due to the event and the many vips, we decided to go to the Xxx event to collect a free gifts. She said we might find a nice outfit. I said, yeah among the crazy stuff around here. She said she wouldn't take some of the stuff. I said I just collect all and delete later beside my mode is to collect everything as fast as I can and will unpack at a sandbox. I told her my starting point and my strategy so that we won't get confuse which one we already took or which one we haven't. So I went to collect one by one without checking it. Suddenly, she imed me and said, "hahah, butt sticker" out of the blue. Then she said,"Butt plug hahaha". I said, yeah the butt plug to control the fart lol. I just realised and slapped my head, of course, the name Xxx says it all! This is a kinky and naughty event! And then she said, "Omg a dildo! Inspired by one of my favorite parts of our trip to Japan last year, Nara!! There is NOTHING like being swarmed by a huge group of adorable deer. It was SOOO fun and inspiring. I knew I had to make a deer/faun set when I got home. I'm glad I finally had the chance.

Aptly named for its chaos of canyons, the Maze is one of the most remote areas of the U.S. Celebrated by writers such as Ed Abbey as a symbol of wilderness, the complex of canyons, buttes, and standing rocks provides isolation far away from human settlements and extractive developments such as grazing and mining. It is one of 3 districts of Canyonlands National Park in Utah, receiving a fraction of the visitation relative to the Needles and Island in the Sky districts.
This view of the afternoon sun cutting across the south fork of Horse Canyon highlights the brown Organ Shale formations known as the Chocolate Drops, though they look more like Hershey bar pieces. Ed Abbey likened them to “tombstones, or altars, or chimney stacks, or stone tablets set on end.” They are capped by White Rim Sandstone which is more resistant to erosion than the softer layers underneath. To the south (right) columns of the same formations occur, known as the Standing Rocks (The Plug and Standing Rock seen here, just left of Lizard Rock). In the distance convective clouds associated with a cold front passing through are dropping snow on the Abajo Mountains and Elk Ridge.

The canyon at the falls is 115 meters (377 feet) deep, exposing a large cross-section of the Columbia River Basalt Group. These falls and the canyon downstream comprise an important feature of the channeled scablands created by the great Missoula Floods that swept periodically across eastern Washington and across the Columbia River Plateau during the Pleistocene epoch.
The ancestral Palouse River flowed through the currently dry Washtucna Coulee to the Columbia River. The Palouse Falls and surrounding canyons were created when the Missoula Floods overtopped the south valley wall of the ancestral Palouse River, diverting it to the current course to the Snake River by erosion of a new channel.
The area is characterized by interconnected and hanging flood-created coulees, cataracts, plunge pools, kolk created potholes, rock benches, buttes and pinnacles typical of scablands. Palouse Falls State Park is located at the falls, protecting this part of the uniquely scenic area.
In 1984, the Franklin County Public Utility District proposed a 30 m (98 ft) high dam be constructed upstream of the falls, allowing for a significant hydraulic head for hydroelectric power generation. This would have provided over one third of the county's power and would have reduced ratepayer charges substantially. However, the majority of the ratepayers declined to approve the investment, preserving this geologically significant feature.
The falls are included in Washington State's Palouse Falls State Park, which provides access to the falls and has displays explaining the region's unique geology, as well as its historical ties (the Palouse Indians and the Mullan Road both took advantage of the easy access to the plateau in the vicinity of the falls).
On February 12, 2014 the Washington State House of Representatives passed HB 2119 unanimously to make Palouse Falls the official state waterfall in Washington State. The proposal for the bill originated when a group of elementary school students in the nearby town of Washtucna lobbied the state legislature.
