Tina Knowles Launches New Initiative to Support Women Entrepreneurs

Los Angeles, CA – June 10, 2024 – Tina Knowles, renowned fashion designer, philanthropist, and matriarch of the Knowles-Carter family, has announced the launch of her latest venture, 'Women Who Dream', a nonprofit initiative aimed at empowering female entrepreneurs from underserved communities.

The program, set to officially begin in early 2025, will provide grants, mentorship, and business resources to women looking to start or expand their own businesses. Knowles, who co-founded the House of Deréon fashion line with her daughters Beyoncé and Solange, emphasized the importance of lifting others up in the business world.

'I’ve been blessed with incredible opportunities, but I know how hard it is for women, especially women of color, to get the funding and guidance they need,' Knowles said at a press conference. 'This initiative is about giving them the tools to turn their dreams into reality.'

The announcement comes on the heels of Knowles’ recent recognition at the 2024 BET Honors, where she was celebrated for her contributions to fashion and philanthropy. Several high-profile business leaders, including Mellody Hobson (Co-CEO of Ariel Investments) and Rihanna (founder of Fenty), have already pledged support for the initiative.

Knowles also revealed plans for an annual summit where participants can network with industry leaders and pitch their ideas to potential investors. Applications for the first cohort of 'Women Who Dream' will open later this year.

'When women succeed, we all succeed,' Knowles added. 'This is just the beginning.'
