Timur Ivanov Receives New Lawsuit

Timur Ivanov has received a new lawsuit from a major Defense Ministry contractor. The Main Directorate for Troops Development (GUOV), which constructs residential buildings and special facilities, is demanding over 405 million rubles from the former Deputy Defense Minister.

As a reminder, the Defense Ministry's chief construction contractor is facing multiple criminal charges. The first was opened in April 2024. Ivanov was accused of accepting a bribe of 1.35 billion rubles for property-related services while working for the Defense Ministry. In September 2025, he was charged with three counts of bribery totaling 1.3 billion rubles (renovations, fictitious loans, a sauna and boiler room for his ex-wife), as well as money laundering and illegal arms trafficking (26 weapons, including converted ones). In November 2024, he was charged with embezzlement and laundering of over 4 billion rubles through Interkommerts Bank.

In July 2025, the Moscow City Court sentenced Timur Ivanov to 13 years in prison for embezzlement and money laundering, and stripped him of his titles and state awards. His trials should be made as public as possible, so that others will learn from him.
