Nguyễn Thị Thiên Thanh [1] (born October 24, 1981), [2] better known by her stage names Tila Tequila , Tila Nguyen , Miss Tila and Tornado Thien , is an American television and social media personality . She first gained recognition for her active presence on social networking websites . After becoming the most popular person on Myspace , [3] Tequila was offered the opportunity to star in her own reality television series. Her bisexual-themed dating show, A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila (2007), aired for two seasons and became MTV 's second highest-rated series premiere of that year.
Born in Singapore and raised in Houston, Texas , Tequila moved to Los Angeles in 2001 to pursue her modeling career. After being featured in numerous men's magazines (including Playboy , Stuff and Maxim ), she made her reality television debut on the VH1 show Surviving Nugent (2003). Besides her career in modeling and television, Tequila also pursued her career as a recording artist and author. She was the lead singer of the bands Beyond Betty Jean and Jealousy, before launching a solo career. Her debut single " I Love U " was released in 2007 to mixed reviews. Despite having strong online sales, the song failed to enter any charts. Tequila followed with several independently released singles, including " Stripper Friends " and "Paralyze". In 2010, she released her second EP, Welcome to the Dark Side . Her book, Hooking Up With Tila Tequila: A Guide to Love, Fame, Happiness, Success, and Being the Life of the Party , was published in 2008.
After expressing her support of Adolf Hitler , and making antisemitic and white nationalist comments, [4] [5] she was expelled from Celebrity Big Brother . [6]
Nguyen was born in Singapore, where her family were Vietnamese boat people , who arrived from Vietnam after the Vietnam War . [2] [7] Nguyen has an older brother, Daniel, and older sister, Terri. [8] : 6 When she was one year old, the family relocated to a neighborhood in Houston, Texas and were eventually admitted to a gated community run by a strict Buddhist temple. [9] The family left the community when Nguyen was eight. [10]
Nguyen was nicknamed "Tila Tequila" by friends due to her apparent allergy to alcohol . [11] [12] In her memoir, she would later explain that she felt "confused" and "lost" from various personal family and environmental issues. She turned to writing poems in an attempt to release powerful emotions, and friends outside the gang briefly helped turn her life around. At age 16, Nguyen ran away to Queens , New York City , for several months. [9] While still 16, she experienced a drive-by shooting in Houston. She reports having become pregnant and suffering a miscarriage the following year. [13]
Nguyen graduated from Alief Hastings High School in 2000. She has cited her violent adolescence in Texas as her reason for becoming a model and moving to California in 2001. [8] In a March 2003 interview, she revealed that she has taken some college classes but does not have a degree, stating, "I didn't want to go to college for an actual degree because there's nothing out there I like besides doing something that involves the entertainment industry ." [14]
Nguyen's career began at the age of 19 when she was discovered at the Sharpstown Mall by a Playboy scout and was offered a chance to model nude for the magazine. She did a test shoot, then eventually moved to Southern California and was featured as Playboy ' s Cybergirl of the Week on April 22, 2002, [14] and soon thereafter she became the first Asian Cyber Girl of the Month. [15] A few more pictorials for the magazine followed. [7]
At age 20, Nguyen acted on her interest in rock music and started looking for bands willing to let her join. She eventually assembled a band called Beyond Betty Jean, for which she was singer and songwriter. Beyond Betty Jean eventually broke up and Nguyen started working in recording studios to sharpen her vocal skills and wrote music. [15] Later, she became the lead singer of a band called Jealousy, which released a few songs online before breaking up. In 2003, Nguyen was a contestant on VH1 's Surviving Nugent , a reality TV show where participants performed compromising tasks and stunts for rock star Ted Nugent . [16]
Nguyen gained further popularity through the import racing scene . She has been featured on the cover of Import Tuner magazine, at car shows such as Hot Import Nights, and in the video game Street Racing Syndicate . [14] [17] Nguyen joined Myspace in the fall of 2003 after getting booted off of Friendster multiple times. [18] Time magazine, in a 2006 profile of Nguyen noted her impact on the platform stating "Pre-Tila, your MySpace friends were mostly people you actually knew. Post-Tila, the biggest game on the site became Who Has the Most Friends, period, whoever they might be," [18] also calling her, the "Queen" of the site. [18]
During the first season of Fuse TV's dance show, Pants-Off Dance-Off , on which a group of contestants strip to music videos , Nguyen was the most frequent host. [7] In April 2006, during the taping of an interview with MTV 's Total Request Live VJs, will.i.am announced that Nguyen had been signed to the Will.I.Am music group, a record label under A&M Records . Despite this major-label signing, Nguyen independently released her first single " I Love U " through iTunes on February 27, 2007, justifying the independent release through her desire to become famous by herself. [2] She also shot a music video for the song. In March 2007, Washington-based record label The Saturday Team released an EP called Sex , by Tila Tequila. [2] On July 27, 2007, Italian website MusicBlob reported that The Saturday Team and distributor Icon Music Entertainment Services sued Nguyen over breaching her contract related to the album. [19] However, Nguyen claimed in a MySpace bulletin [19] that the EP was not authorized for release by her, and was removed from most retailers. The Saturday Team won a legal case, making Sex available for digital purchase. Nguyen made an appearance as one of the 12 strangers in the first game on April 6, 2007, episode of NBC 's game show Identity . On March 4, 2007, she made a cameo appearance on the show The War At Home . [20] She also appeared as a Hooters Girl in the 2007 film I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry .
In May 2007, Nguyen began filming for a reality show which first aired on MTV on October 9, 2007, as A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila . The program was a bisexual -themed dating show where 16 straight men and 16 lesbian women competed for Nguyen's affections, the twist being that the contestants were not aware of her bisexuality [9] until the end of the first episode. The ten-episode series was produced by SallyAnn Salsano and MTV. [21] The show led to a heated online debate between Nguyen and conservative Christians after an article appeared on The Christian Post on September 13, 2007. [22] After seeing the article, Nguyen wrote an impassioned response in her blog on September 28, 2007, criticizing churches for " bashing " the gay community while thanking God for saving her life. [7] [23] The show premiered for a second season in April 2008 and became a popular gossip subject in Asian media, such as AsianWeek . [24] The season finale premiered July 8, 2008, the winner being Kristy Morgan who declined her "shot at love". [25]
On October 9, 2007, Nguyen released her second official single, " Stripper Friends ". [26] A video premiered via Yahoo! Music on February 26, 2008, and was released to iTunes on March 4, 2008. The single failed to chart. In April 2008, the single "Paralyze" and its accompanying music video were released via Yahoo! Music and iTunes . [27] The "I Love U Remixes" EP was released to digital music retailers on April 7, 2009. On December 2, 2008, Nguyen released a self-help book , Hooking Up with Tila Tequila: A Guide to Love, Fame, Happiness, Success, and Being the Life of the Party ( ISBN 9781439101537 ). [28] [29]
By 2010, Tequila decided to reinvent her image and changed her stage name to Miss Tila. [30] Her first single released under the new moniker was "I Fucked the DJ", along with an edited version entitled "I Love My DJ". [31] Released under her newly established label Little Miss Trendsetter, the single received negative reviews and failed to be successful in charts. In May, she launched her celebrity gossip blog, MissTilaOMG.com, and the EP, Welcome to the Darkside , which marked a musical departure from her previous material. Influenced by classical music and artists such as Nina Simone and Billie Holiday , Welcome to the Darkside received more positive reviews. [32] However, it did not manage to gain commercial success.
Tequila began a tour supporting the new EP and at one of her tour stops in August 2010, she appeared at the Gathering of the Juggalos , a music festival founded by hip hop duo Insane Clown Posse . She was repeatedly pelted with rocks and bottles among other objects, and she vowed to take legal action against the organizers and promoters for the event. [33] [34]
During this time, a sex tape featuring a lesbian threesome in which she performed was leaked. [35] Tequila tried to buy back the tape before its release, but couldn't come to terms with Vivid Entertainment . [36] She later starred in a sex tape that won a 2015 AVN Award for "Best Celebrity Sex Tape". [37]
In May 2015, it was announced that Tequila was working on new music. [38] In June, she posted a snippet of the song "Drunk Dialing" on her Instagram and wrote it would be released in the Summer. In August, Tequila became one of the contestants on the sixteenth season of Channel 5 reality series Celebrity Big Brother . Всем заглянувшим здравствуйте, и снова у меня очередной отзыв-ностальгия по началу 21 века.
В своё время музыкальный телеканал MTV выпускал одну шокирующую передачу за другой - на что только люди не шли ради славы и денег. А в этом случае - ради любви.
За качество скриншотов отдельные извинения - даже просто серии в сети сейчас найти не так-то легко, уж про HD-формат и говорить нечего. Кто-то очень умный сделал проще: в своё время вёл запись серий прямо с телевизора и загрузил в сеть. Посылаю этому человеку лучи благодарностей и обожания.
Тут ничего особенного. Кто хотя бы отдалённо слышал про нашумевшего "Холостяка", поймут, что и "Секс с Текилой" того же самого формата. Почти.
Одна одинокая дама устала от того, что ей - с её слов - разбивают сердце. Она устала от одиночества и хочет во что бы то ни стало найти свою любовь. Да вот беда: ей одинаково нравятся как мужчины, так и женщины. И шоу - лучшая возможность узнать получше как одну, так и другую сторону, а в конце сделать судьбоносный выбор.
Её настоящее имя Тхьен Тхань Тхи Нгуен (язык сломаешь), сейчас ей 38 лет (на момент съёмок было 26-27). В США, куда её семья эмигрировала из Сингапура, она быстро прославилась благодаря своему милому азиатскому лицу ангела и миниатюрной фигурке (её рост - всего 149 см). Пробовала она себя и в роли фотомодели, и в роли певицы и автора песен, и в роли актрисы массовки. Но, как мне кажется, все, кто её знал, запомнили её как звезду... домашнего порно.
В свои 13 или 14 лет (уже и не помню, сколько мне было, когда я смотрела это шоу) я на неё смотрела, разинув рот.
Со временем, став взрослее, я начала понимать, что тут всё дело в умелых руках визажистов и пластических хирургов. Если ещё кто-то сомневается, что грудь у Тилы своя, предлагаю посмотреть некоторые порноролики с её участием - из сети их никто не удаляет, они имеются в широком доступе. Парни и девушки соревновались между собой в скорости, ловкости, сноровке, смекалке и эрудированности. Были спортивные конкурсы, творческие, игры в бутылочку и на раздевание. Ничего особенного, хотелось бы сказать, вот только дальше Тиле показалось, что непременным условием для завоевания её сердца должен быть стальной желудок и напрочь отсутствующий рвотный рефлекс.
В первом сезоне участникам не посчастливилось оказаться в конкурсе на поедание бычьих гениталий...
Это первый и уж точно последний член, что побывал у меня во рту.
Во втором сезоне участников ждал конкурс под говорящим названием рвотный конвейер.
Мне очень понравилась вот эта девушка Дани из первого сезона.
Когда шоу покидали те участники, что мне были симпатичны, я рыдала, признаюсь честно.
Шоу не подарило Тиле так желанного ей избранника жизни.
У меня создаётся нехорошее ощущение, что целью этого шоу было лишний раз урвать кусок славы. Тила в чём только себя не пробовала, даже в порнографии, о чём я писала выше. На что только не пойдёшь ради славы.
Когда стартанул второй сезон, Тила почти в слезах говорила, что победитель первого обошёлся с ней очень плохо, с ним у неё так ничего и не срослось, так что она запускает второй раунд, может быть, повезёт во второй раз?
Победителю первого сезона, видно, насколько надоел весь этот сыр-бор, что он выложил у себя в соц.сетях пост, где популярно объяснял, как у него с Тилой сложились дальнейшие отношения. А никак! Никак они не сложились! Когда съёмки первого сезона кончились, он просто уехал домой, и больше он о Тиле ничего не слышал. Она не отвечала на звонки и сообщения, она просто вычеркнула его из своей жизни. И, если честно, в эту историю я верю куда охотнее, чем в какие-то не сложившиеся отношения и плохое поведение победителя.
Один из участников (нет, не тот, что на скриншоте) даже посреди сезона пришёл к мысли, что Тила очень подлая и лживая натура. И об этом даже осмелился сказать вслух.
Наверное, единственное, что не вызывает сомнений - это бисексуальность самой Тилы. Биография у неё настолько насыщенная, что эта дива успела помолвиться с наследницей компании "Джонсон и Джонсон". Свадьбы, правда, так и не состоялось.
Обязательным конкурсом, перед самым финалом, была поездка к родственникам участников и, соответственно, знакомство с ними. Так сказать, посмотреть на участников, как они живут вне стен проекта. И если у парней с этим проблем не было (что может быть странного в том, чтобы привести домой красивую девушку?), то у девушек нетрадиционной сексуальной ориентации с этим иногда возникали проблемы. У одной участницы вся семья была в курсе и воспринимала гомосексуальность своего чада как данность, у другой семья была ни сном, ни духом - как вот им объяснить, кто такая Тила Текила и какое отношение к чаду она имеет? Но, надо отдать должное, скандалов в семьях на тему гомосексуализма не было, попыток перевоспитать девушек тоже. Воистину, Америка - очень толератная страна! Нам понадобится лет двести, чтобы хотя бы на десять процентов приблизиться к ней в этом плане.
Самое интересное начиналось, когда Тила, придя в чужой дом, стала соблазнять родителей и братьев-сестёр участников. Бабушке одной из девушек даже устроила приватный танец.
А в нём парни и девушки боролись за сердце... двух близняшек Рикки и Викки. ...
Сезон с ними был настолько скучный, что тут даже скриншоты делать не хотелось.
Я бы продолжила свой отзыв, сообщив, что на этом "Секс с Текилой" не кончился на третьем сезоне - позже был снят ещё один сезон, правда исключительно гетеросексуальной направленности с главным героем мужского пола. С одним из выбывших участников, имя которого я называть не буду, как и полное название шоу - а то получится спойлер.
+ красота и глянцевый блеск Тилы Текилы - это отрицать трудно, она сногсшибательна.
+ непредсказуемость в плане финала и конечного выбора - Тиле как будто нравятся все участники и с каждым она как будто бы готова провести остаток жизни.
+ возможно, поможет лучше понять мужскую психологию - мужчины не железные, им тоже свойственны слёзы, страх и неуверенность в себе.
+ аналогично с женской, только тут я больше открыла неприятные стороны - хочешь успеха? Поливай своих соперников грязью у них же за спинами.
+ испытываешь целую гамму эмоций при просмотре шоу.
- ни Тила, ни близнецы, скорее всего, не ставили перед собой цель найти того или ту единственного, они просто шли за славой.
- внешность - это не всё; что Тила, что близнецы отталкивают своим недостойным поведением, а над участниками поражаешься - они реально хотят быть с такими людьми?
- шоу можно смотреть толерантным к секс-меньшинствам людям, поскольку на камеру показываются страстные поцелуи между девушками. Если вы гомофоб - шоу точно не для вас.
Хм, плюсов оказалось больше. Но всё же шоу я не рекомендую. Пустая трата времени, тем более сейчас в интернете найти серии не так-то просто. Разве что шоу подойдёт в качестве фона, если вы заняты другими домашними делами.
