Original Poster. Nobby Diesel. Search My Stuff What's New 3 12 24 Daily budget skiing in Tignes? OP Posts Only. Prev of 2 2 Next. HonestIago Original Poster 1, posts months. Afternoon, Could anyone who has been give me a ballpark figure? I am going for a week from 8thth Feb. DoubleSix 11, posts months. So many variables. You could stop for a hotdog for 5 Euros or sit down at the top of the mountain for 3 course lunch and do 80 Euros easily. Just comes down to what sort of experience you want. I go for the skiing so probably only sit down to eat once or twice in a week. Easily, if you have the right attitude which being a PHer I'm sure you do. Some of the best trips I've had have been done 'on the cheap'. We used to 'nick' boiled eggs and baguettes from the hotel breakfast buffet and make lunch with that. A few cheeses may have gone walkies too! Rule of thumb: the higher you go the more things will cost. So when stopping for refreshments avoid the highest most scenic restaurant and just ski down to a main hub where there's a bit of competition. Even better; take a rucksack full of water, nuts, mars bars etc small hits of energy on the lifts will keep you going. A big lunch will make for hard afternoon skiing. You'll have a blast! Edited by DoubleSix on Monday 6th January Mashedpotatoes 1, posts months. I was there 3 years ago and my eyes waterd one day when I treated a frind to a burger fries and a coke at 15 E. Beer was ridicules at 7E. Good advise from double6 above. Nobby Diesel 2, posts months. What DoubleSix says is good advice. Depending on how you are getting to resort, it's worth a stop at a supermarket way down the valley, to do a big shop, on your way there. If you have to shop in resort, talk to seasonaires, they always know the cheapest places. Even if you do fancy a lunch with a view, the restaurant at Tovierre is ok pricewise, if you just stick to a fill up on pasta from the self service. However, as DoubleSix says, the food 'liberated' from the hotel makes for a great piste side picnic, if you can find a sunny, quiet corner. Thanks for the input! I am very excited as not been abroad skiing since ! Not hugely fussed if I spend a lot but can't help wanting reasonable VFM! Steviesam 1, posts months. Just come back from Tignes Coffee 4Euro Lunch near the bottom for 2 was 50 euro soup each plus fries plus a coffee Burger and fries was 25 euro at the bottom , but was fooking good. Beers approx 4 euro a half. My breakfast and evening meal was included, still cost me average 80 euro a day for me and the Mrs and I dont drink. All the above was in 'budget' places-no fancy restaurants at all. CAPP0 19, posts months. Baguette, cheese and meat etc. Take water with you. If you can stock up on some booze and food in bourg. Much cheaper than in resort. Pre drinking will be required. I was there a fortnight ago. The burgers at the Marmot were E depending on spec, and the Loop burger was 15E, both with fries. Thanks for all the great input! I'm in Tignes Feb. Not really much to add other that that! Is your accom half board? Food and beer are the most expensive things on the mountain, I don't like a large lunch when I'm skiing so I'm usually happy with just a few cereal bars etc. It was the last time I skied in France so may get a bit of a shock at the prices after skiing mostly in Austria and Italy. Some accomadation will make you a packed lunch which won't cost much or make your own. I do like a few apres beers but otherwise just happy to have a few back in the accomadation-is it a package deal you're going on? Which provider? I don't really eat during the day normally but when skiing do like something warm to keep me going at lucnh! Its a package deal with Crystal Ski.. You on a package deal too? You might find the the Ski hosts will do you a pack lunch at a decent price. I was also in Les Brevieres so doubt you'll be down as low as that. I also liked the Quiksilver Cafe in Val d'Isere - but not sure if that is still around. Might be worth saving some of your budget for Folie Douce one afternoon. Apres ski place between Val D and Tignes. Won't be cheap although you can spread your drinks out a bit. Quite sloaney but worth doing once. Good pizza place in Tignes Le Brevieres at bottom. Cross the road, green cannopy, not too bad price-wise.
