Just because you happen to be seven months pregnant, it doesn’t mean you can’t look good in a two-piece.
That appears to be the logic behind the eighth annual Pre-Labor Day Bikini Contest for expectant mothers that was hosted in Houston on Thursday night.
As part of the event meant to celebrate the beauty of motherhood, some 15 mothers-to-be showed off their extra-curvy physiques in swimsuits that proudly showcased their baby bumps.
Ladies' night: Some 15 expectant mothers turned out for the eight annual Pre-Labor Day Pregnant Bikini Contest in Houston
Conditions: To qualify for the contest, all the participants must be in their third trimester
Jennifer Clay, who is in her 32nd week of pregnancy, was judged the winner based on her grace, presentation and ‘it’ factor, according to the Houston Chronicle .
Beside strutting their stuff down the runway in sexy beachwear, the contestants tested their parenting skill by taking part in a timed baby-diapering race and a diaper toss as friends and family cheered on from the side-lines.
‘All the bad symptoms and the extra weight and being hungry and not sleeping; you throw that all in there and you just want to have a good time and relax and have fun,’ contestant Elisa Lange told KIAH-TV.

Well-rounded winner: Jennifer Clay, who is 32 weeks pregnant, took home first prize in the contest based on her grace, presentation and an 'it' factor
In order to qualify for the annual maternity extravaganza, would-be participants must be in their third trimester, which means that they have to be at least 28 weeks pregnant.
In its eighth year, the Pre-Labor Day contest has become somewhat of a local tradition, but the event is not without its critics.

'So, I'm gonna just come right out and say it: I have mixed feelings about this one,’ CafeMom's Jacqueline Burt wrote in reaction to last year's contest.
‘Look, I'm all for self-acceptance and having a positive body image no matter what your size or shape, but a pregnant bikini contest? I just don't know if I'm okay with that.’
