Rough Riders book 4, Tied up and Tied Down does not disappoint. It is sweet and romantic at times, and hot and steamy at other times. Kade McKay has returned from a year in the remote part of the McKay ranch, to discover he is the father of a 3 month old baby girl. His mistakes that led to his break-up with Skylar were what drove him to the remote land, but it didn't drive away his feelings for her. Now that he knows Skylar had his baby, he is determined to be a part of both of their lives. Will Skylar be able to trust Kade, not just as a parenting partner, but as a lover and husband? Readers of Rough Riders book #3 have already learned about Kade's wild past, and the new man he was becoming when he met Skylar, before wrecking their relationship with an unfortunate secret. The follow-up of their love story will not disappoint. I feel that most of the Rough Riders books are written in a way that allows you to jump into the story at any point in the story, but book #4 is an exception. Kade's story really begins in book #3, Cowgirl up and Ride, so I would recommend starting there. Tied Up, Tied Down is, in my opinion, a much more enjoyable read than Cowgirl Up and Ride (book 3 in the series). Kade is a strong alpha-male cowboy that isn't afraid to own up to fathering a child and step right in and help out. I think there should be more men in the world that step up to the plate fully prepared to be the best daddy he can be, so it was very refreshing to have Kade be this type of man. I also enjoyed Skylar as the heroine. She is a type A micro-managing business owner and mother that can't quite get the hang of letting loose and letting someone else do the work for a while. That is a very real situation for a lot of women today and this makes her a very real character in my mind. I thought the couple actually spent time getting to know each other, and I found the love scenes to be much more believable and genuine, which is definitely a plus for me. In all, this was a good book, and one that I feel others would enjoy reading.
I love this book. It is my favorite of all the Rough Riders' books. I love Kade. He's a do-the-right-thing-hottie-cowboy. He's everything a girl could want. Skylar is a great match for him. She's been hurt before and really uneasy about any relationship. Add in an adorable McKay baby, a girl McKay at that, hot sex and India (Skylar's sister), what's not to LOVE about this book. The characters become friends to you. You mark your calendar for each new book. You fall in love with the McKays more and more with each book. What I love the most about Ms. James' books are the family interactions, i.e., Kane worried about ruining things for Kade with Sky, Colt and his issues with his family, the whole West/McKay feud, Dag's death, Trevor and Chassie. These are just some of the things in this book and prior books that will be answered or expanded upon in books to come. Thank goodness there are so many more McKay books to come.
I read Tied Up, Tied Down on a trip to Wyoming because I thought it would be fun to read about cowboys while I was in cowboy country. As a stand-alone book, this is a great story that draws you in, makes you care about the characters, and offers a hot romance that you will not be able to put down. Kade is a super dad to his little girl. It gave me that same warm feeling in my heart that I had when my husband would walk with our infant for hours trying to put her to sleep. Very real and very believable. All the while, Kade is trying to win the heart of Skylar, with real emotion, and sex scenes that only Lorelei does so well. The best part is that Lorelei's Rough Rider series offer you more books to read, and ALL of them are just as good, but very different so you won't ever tire of them.....and you will reread them.
Lorelei James is one of the few authors that can create characters that seduce the reader as well as one another. She certainly has another hit on her hands with Tied Up, Tied Down. Kade and Sky take the complexities of their relationship to form a life long committment AFTER the baby is born. This author creates characters that are real, that are dealing with real life situations and still manage to have the 'happily ever after' ending to their story. Ms. James books allow us to view a situation that occurs in real life with just the right amount of spice and love. KUDOS Ms. James for another "smokin' hot" love story with just the right flavor of real life to make it believeable. If I wasn't already a fan, I would be after reading Tied Up, Tied Down.
I am working my way through the Rough Riders series and enjoyed Tied Up, Tied down but found it to be a bit predictable right from the beginning. I did think Kade's naked rule was fresh and fun. This series really does need to be read in order as there are so many characters that continue (or are mentioned) from previous books. You almost need a chart to keep track of who's who. I found this to be a quick and light read that gets the reader ready for the next book in the series.
Returning from months at an isolated job, Kade McKay is surprised to discover that his loved & lost lady - one Ms Skyler - has had a baby. So what's an honourable cowboy to do other than saddle up and take on the job of being the best dad he can. And if he can win back Skylar's love as well his family will be complete. One of my favourite romance books - the story gives an affirmation that loving fathers exist (that he's a smokin' hot cowboy doesn't hurt either!) Definately recommended for the Romantic at heart. Well written believable characters - you'll want to know more about the McKay clan after just one read [see Lorelei's other books in this series]

Absolutely love Lorelei James Novels!
Absolutely love Lorelei James Novels! they're believable and full of realistic story-lines/ plots. There is always good, and continual dialect between the characters, which I prefer- more often than not you get books/ novels that write what the character is thinking as opposed to communicating, this drives me crazy! Lorelei James is definitely in my top three with "Tied up, Tied Down" being one of my favourites. Naughty, funny, and compelling read, big thumbs up!

Kade & Sky... another great story in the series.
Danke Lorelei James für eine weiteres tolles Buch der "Rough Riders" Serie. Mit Kade und Skylar's Story hat sie ein weiteres faszinierendes Paar zum Leben erweckt. Handlung: Als Kade McKay nach Monaten harter Arbeit, von der abgelegenen Ranch seiner Familie zurückkehrt, fällt er fast aus allen Wolken, als er erfährt, dass er in der Zwischenzeit Vater einer Tochter ist. Er nimmt sich der Sache sofort an, um keinen Tag länger von seiner Tochter getrennt zu sein. Für die unabhängige und taffe Skylar Elisson ist es zunächst verwirrend, das er sich einbringen will. Und als der charmante Cowboy ihr vorschlägt, bei ihr einzuziehen, damit sich beide um ihre zuckersüße Maus Eliza Belle kümmern können, bezweifelt sie, das dieses Arrangement funtionieren kann. Zumal es eh einige unaufgeklärte Missverständnisse zwischen ihnen gibt. Kade ist jedoch gewillt alles zu tun, um die Frau die er mehr als alles andere will, wieder für sich zu gewinnen... Fazit: In Teil 4 wird nun endlich die Geschichte von Kade & Sky erzählt, die in

seinen Anfang hatte. Indem der Cowboy seine wilde Vergangenheit hinter sich lässt, als er Skylar trifft und zu einem neuen Mann wird. Ich muss zugeben, das mir die beiden Hauptcharaktere gut gefallen haben. Ganz besonders Kade, der ein absolut liebenswerter Kerl ist, eben die Art von Mann, den sich wohl jede Frau wünscht. Ein verständnisvoller Partner & Freund, liebervoller Vater und ein verdammt heißer Liebhaber. Doch Kade hat sein ganzes Leben das Gefühl, als wäre er bei all den männlichen McKay's austauschbar und nichts besonderes. Vorallem, da er eh immer für seinen Zwillingsbruder Kane gehalten wird, der absolut nichts anbrennen lässt. Erst Sky gibt ihm das Gefühl eine ganz besondere Person zu sein. Aber sie ist ein totaler Kontrollfreak und glaubt, das Kade mit ihr nur wegen der gemeinsamen Tochter zusammen sein will. Das führt zu einigen Missverständnissen, bis beide ihr Glück finden. Das mitzuverfolgen war sehr unterhaltsam. Und ein auch weiterer McKay Bruder hat hier seinen ersten Auftritt, Cam der Soldat. Aber auch alte Bekannte waren wieder mit von der Partie. Was mir immer ausgesprochen gut gefällt, so erfährt man, was in der Zwischenzeit aus ihnen geworden ist. Für mich hatte ~Tied Up Tied Down~ mehr von einer Romance als einem Erotica, trotz der heißen Szenen. Also für alle die gerne Liebesgeschichten mit einem Schuss Erotik lesen, sind hier gut beraten. Von mir gibts die absolute Kaufempfehlung und 4 Sterne!

THE NEKKID RULE
Giddy-Up, another smoking hot read from Lorelei James's Roughrider series. This is book 4 and as usual theres all kinds of hot and sexy lovemakin goin on. Its also been tied together again with an awesome story; encompassing ranch life, love, heartache, the occasional dust up and of course family. You know real life kinda stuff. I'm finding this series seriously addictive and almost impossible to put down. It seems I've fallen hard for those wild, sexy, and charming MacKay boys, even if most of the time I can't keep their names straight. Now all I need is a blue-eyed/black haired cowboy of my very own to play with. I've also got to stop talking like I'm from Wyoming Y'all because I live in Canada and my family thinks I've lost it. We first met Kade and Skylar in (Cowgirl Up And Ride) where they had several dates and an unprotected romp in the back of a pick-up before goin their separate ways. 12 months later cattle rancher Kade McKay returns to town only to learn that he's a daddy. Thing is though he wants to be a dad. Never mind stepping up to the plate Kade runs, embracing his new daddy status with pure delight. Given half a chance he'd also like to be a husband but independent business woman Skylar Ellison has some trust issues and won't give an inch despite his constant marriage proposals. She's also pretty sure he's just asking because of the baby. Within days Kade and Skylar move in together, under the pretence that they'll live platonically, just sharing in the parenting duties. (Yeah right) Anyways, Kade agrees to play by her rules long enough for Skylar to see that he's in this for the long haul. (He might love her a bit too) Since this is a Roughriders book the arrangement lasts like one chapter before desire takes over. At first their sex life is perfunctory however once Kade convinces Skylar that sex really is better with the lights on and not in the missionary position (or even indoors for that matter) things evolve to a whole new level of passion. Kade ultimately takes complete control in the bedroom; instilling the "Nekkid rule" and making quick use of some ropes, leaving Skylar in an unfamiliar `sub' position but very satisfied. However nothing worth having ever comes easy. And just because Skylar's given her body to Kade doesn't mean she's going to hand him the reins to her heart too. Just how much one sided lovin will this cowboy take before he finally hit's the dusty trail? Kade is just lovely as our cowboy daddy, he's sweet, honest and hardworking (plus he likes a girl with curves)in all honesty Skylar doesn't deserve him. Of course theres a whole lot of other stuff going on here too and fans of the series won't be disappointed. Cheers
