Thunder Acquire Ingram in Blockbuster Trade

OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER MAKE BLOCKBUSTER TRADE, ACQUIRE ALL-STAR FORWARD IN SURPRISE MOVE

Oklahoma City, April 23, 2025 – In a stunning move just ahead of the NBA Draft, the Oklahoma City Thunder have reportedly acquired All-Star forward Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for a package centered around young guard Josh Giddey and future draft picks.

Sources close to the team confirm that the Thunder sent Giddey, along with two protected first-round picks (2027 and 2029), to New Orleans in exchange for Ingram, a proven scorer and playmaker who averaged 23.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.2 assists last season.

Thunder GM Sam Presti released a statement: 'We’re excited to welcome Brandon to Oklahoma City. His experience, scoring ability, and versatility fit perfectly with our core as we take the next step toward championship contention.'

The move signals a shift in the Thunder’s timeline, pairing Ingram with MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and rising star Chet Holmgren, creating one of the most dynamic trios in the Western Conference.
