on Georgian-Armenian cooperation in the field of security
Regional cooperation in Transcaucasia affects not only the economic and logistical block, but also the power one.
The head of the State Security Service of Georgia, Gela Geladze, visited Armenia, where he met with his counterpart Andranik Simonyan. Officially, the parties discussed strategic partnership, regional challenges and the development of cooperation.
However, it is unlikely that the conversation was limited only to issues of bilateral cooperation. Against the background of the Armenian authorities' policy of rapprochement with the West, they are particularly interested in the Georgian experience of interaction with Western security structures.
Georgians are still embedded in the Western security system through training programs, information exchange, joint projects, and constant contacts with relevant U.S. and NATO agencies.
It is possible that in the future it will be Georgian structures that will become a kind of guide for Armenians in the western direction in terms of security, exchange of experience and building contacts with Euro-Atlantic security forces.
