Eddy and Stuart share two-thirds of a dormitory suite. Due to bureaucratic error, a woman named Alex is added to their room. At first, relations among the three are tense. Soon, however, Alex falls for Eddy, and Stuart lusts after Alex. Eddy comes to realize not only that he's gay, but that he's attracted to Stuart.

I loved this movie. I laughed all the way through this movie. I love the three actors. Great movie. Some sexual content and swearing but it wasn’t a deal breaker for me.

Why this film keeps billing a minor player (Alexis Arquette) is beyond me. Two of the names you should know easily, the third did not go on to be a big name player, but his performance is good! I had actually seen this film some years ago on HBO in a hotel, but caught it after the beginning, and didn't go back after the title. I enjoyed it then, and again now. This time 'round was for some social research, so I was far more into it this time than last. As far as comedy goes, it was a good show. As far as socially accurate goes, knowing the social impact such a situation can have on people caught up in this scenario (as learned from my current research), it is an accurate portrayal. The actor's performances were realistic and accurate as well. I only give it four stars as it is not what I would deem an "epic" film, but it is well worth watching, as long as the idea of a relationship between two men and a woman does not offend you. If it does, FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO WATCH, and do not bash a film due to content not to your liking. There's lots of stuff out there where the content is something I wouldn't enjoy viewing. That does not mean the film is not well done for what it is. If you make the mistake of choosing a film you don't like for content alone, it is your mistake for not doing your homework, not the film's mistake for containing something you don't like. Save your bashing for BADLY MADE films, and then I'm right there with you!

Threesome (1994), despite some lapses into puerile humor, remains a thoughtful film about college life. While films like Reality Bites (1994) focus more on the trials of life after college, Threesome ventures into the lives of three students who meet during their third year of school. Eddy (Josh Charles), a transfer student, finds himself assigned to room with a likeable yet Neanderthal-esque, Stuart (Stephen Baldwin), whose primary focus in life includes cutting corners, drinking, and conquering hapless women. As a result of a bureaucratic error, Alex (Lara Flynn Boyle) finds herself assigned to the same suite as Eddy and Stuart. Initially, Alex avoids her two male neighbors until she realizes their friendship might be worth greater consideration. Threesome is a drama/comedy which will appeal more to a Generation X audience that went to college during the late 80's through the 90's. The comedy in Threesome is quirky and irreverent, offering an honest portrayal of young adults as they explore their own academic concerns while managing the tricky balance of dorm life, the latter an easier pastime given the freedoms that come with living away from home. Fleming allows us to see how three disparate characters could be drawn into a kind of physical attraction resembling something out of Sartre's No Exit. Yet, he allows each of them enough character development so that their complexities surface with relative ease as they come to know one another better. Eventually, Threesome is about friendship and not sex. The moral in Threesome is that sex can complicate friendships and when all of them are faced with a difficult situation towards the end of the film, it is no surprise that the dilemma which leaves them reeling is enough to sever the closeness which they shared at the outset. Threesome does not idealize friendship as if it were something permanent and stable, but offers a candid look at relations in which people can find mutuality and intimacy in short periods and that unforeseen circumstances which bring people together can be enough to provoke exploration.

One of the greatest, and indeed underrated, comedies of all time. I could watch this movie a million times and never tire of it. Lara Flynn Boyle (Alex), Stephen Baldwin (Stuart), and Josh Charles (Eddie) were cast perfectly in this movie. Their chemistry really came through in the final product. "Threesome" came out when I first went to college, 1994, so it helped me to deal with the transition from high school a little. Though opposites in personality, Eddie and Stuart were getting along as roommates when, through an administrative error at the college, Alex winds up in a male dormitory. It's then that the movie gets interesting. Alex has a crush on Eddie who has a crush on Stuart but they resolve to remain friends and the adventures the three of them face as friends are hilarious. Someone else said that the movie is not about sex and they're so right. "Threesome" is about trying to find yourself among the turmoil that is college life. Another excellent job from Andrew Fleming (who also directed "Bad Dreams," starring Jennifer Rubin).

The actual DVD and package were in perfect condition, still inside the original (I assume) packaging. The odd thing was that it had a Wal-Mart price sticker on the front, which was half of what I had just paid for it. (?) I refuse to shop at Wal-mart for what it represents, so I was a bit disappointed that it had apparently originated from there. Also, the mail package was hand addressed and contained nothing but the DVD. No invoice or anything. Anyhow, I got the DVD I wanted with no funny business. I paid no more,no less than what was quoted. The only question I really have is..where did this really come from?

I had seen this movie when it first came out and loved it then and I still love it. It's just about the intricacies of friendships and how sometimes people who mean the world to you one minute can just fade so quickly out of your life. The movie is about more than sex, but how close people can become. I loved it and would watch it again.

The actors look too old for college. This is a loud and rambuncious movie. It was somewhat uncomfortable to watch with my children and mom present since it struggles with sexual identity. Some parts were funny. The intellectual guy was the best. The skateboard dude, was so hyper sexual that he was more of an archetype of the unconscious, but some people are that way actually. The girl was unreal unless she got mental issues. The people who wrote this seemed like they just thought things up really quickly and needed to button up the movie
