If you wish to start your car remotely, just press a button on the app and the engine will begin to run.
When you're ready for driving, you can unlock the vehicle by bringing your phone up to the door handle. The phone will then be recognised and the doors will unlock. The car can then be locked once again by bringing the phone up to the door handle, just like the normal key would.
The BMW smart key allows you to manage your parking from a distance this is extremely useful when parking lots are crowded. If your BMW is within range, you can press a button on the app and your car will sound the horn several times. This feature allows you to locate your car in a crowded parking lot and could prevent accidents.
The BMW Display Key also comes with a battery which can be recharged and you don't have to worry about it getting replaced on a regular basis. This is a big advantage over conventional key fobs, which have non-rechargeable battery packs and need to be replaced frequently.
