Three Good Reasons to Avoid Fluffy Towels
We are constantly looking for the best towels on the market, and here we will tell you a little about what we learned during our trip.
You often get fooled by the feeling in the store.
Terry towels come in several different qualities and thicknesses. They are also made of different quality cotton. And they are often treated both mechanically and chemically so that they have a soft feeling in the store. You can generally say that you should be a little vigilant against towels that feel very soft and comfortable in the store.
They can, for example, have a rather poor quality of cotton and be treated to feel very soft. For example, if you look at the threads in the terry cloth, you can often see lots of loose fibers sticking out. This makes the towel soft and comfortable but basically useless to dry with. The softness of such a towel will probably disappear after a few washes. And you still have a pretty bad towel that may nibble, loosen fibers or feel completely different than when you bought it.
What you as a consumer often the value is the feeling in the store. It is mistakenly believed that the softer, fluffier, and cozier the towel is, the better it is. But that is not the case.
The truth is that if you want to be sure to buy an effective and durable towel, choose a towel that feels a little harder. That is why hotels do not buy soft towels for their guests. They simply do not want a chance but go for the safe card and choose terrycloth that is not treated to be soft.

There are three good reasons to be wary of soft towels with a soft finish.
Soft finish products often release more fiber over a longer period of time, which means that the garment changes its quality almost immediately or begins to nibble.
The treatment that is done to get a soft finish often makes the absorbency worse.
After many washes where fibers come loose, the character of the towel changes completely. What started as a fluffy towel soon leads to a hard and lumpy towel without absorbency.
With a towel with a hard finish, you instead have a towel that is from the beginning as it should be with good absorption and no or very little loose fibers, which means that the towel retains its character.
However, know with you that towels with a hard finish are tougher on the body and do not have the same fluffy feeling of coziness.
