OVH offers dedicated servers with IP addresses for free
hello guys
I've heard some cancelled dedicated servers on ovh have free subnet IPs , is that true? How do I get these servers?

Probably by contacting their support..
Or if you know anyone working there personally, ask them . You can also inquire on their social media profiles!

A $3.00 USD setup fee per IPv4 address is required. For 8 IP addresses, you will need to pay $24.00 USD. After that, it's free for as long as it's attached and active.

I don't know about buddy, but i'm pretty certain that if someone cancels their server, the server will be available with no IPs. Therefore, i am curious if there is a place on OVH to purchase cancelled servers or auction servers. ( same hetzner)

They are not charging high prices and ship their old servers to SoYouStart.

Original post by roz333 I know my buddy, but i am pretty certain that when someone cancels his server, that server will be made available with free IPs
This is what you heard/read. It seems false to me, and I've been an OVH customer for quite some time.

It's not true. Why would they give others IPs from a previous client that paid? That's how their money is made.

Original post by Andei. Where did you hear/read this? It seems to be false from what I know, even though I have been an OVH client for quite a while.
If I have a dedicated server from them, and I order additional IPs for this server, then I cancel this server, those IPs return back to their IP pool, they don't stick to the dedicated server for the next owner...
I've read on some forums . i am sure about that. maybe these servers after cancellation go to essential series on Soyoustart what do you think?

You can order up to 128 IPs per server, and up to 16 IPs are free.
soyoustart is reliable for hosting website?
That means the first 16 IPs will cost $3.00 per IP one-time fee, after the initial 16 you will pay $3.00 per month per IP. You will pay $12.00/month if you have 20 of these IPs. SYS is OOH, which has a very similar reliability to OVH. However, SYS servers come without IPMI.

No. Servers get to be on SoYouStart once OVH upgrades to a new tier of servers, not after someone cancels a server. And servers don't keep their extra IPs once cancelled, aka those IPs do not transfer to the new owner.

thanks dude what about original ovh ? Should I pay the same monthly fees as soyoustart (for more 16 IPs) I heard soyoustart's support was a joke. Is this true? Do they have reliable support?

Should you pay? Maybe I'm reading that wrong. Bottom line is you pay what they invoice you for, nothing more and nothing less.

OVH has different limits for IP.. check their website. SYS support is either good or bad, it all depends upon who you are and your expectations. I have never had to deal with a problem, but I've been a client for many years and know what you can expect for self-managed servers.
