Sono was approved as a new member by the KBL Board of Directors on July 21, keeping all of its players and hometown (Goyang) and bringing in head coach Kim Seung-ki. Sono's emblem, unveiled at the inauguration ceremony, is a cannonball in the sky with a basketball symbol, representing the meaning of the team's name, "Skygunners," which means "shooters in the sky. Coach Kim took the stage at the founding ceremony and declared the unchanged direction of "Kim Seung Ki-pyo Basketball," saying, "We are a team that can shoot three points at any time as long as we cross the halfway line in line with the team emblem. Kim's teams have always played sharpshooter basketball. Last season, Day One averaged 34.9 three-point attempts and 11.5 makes per regular-season game.
