This year, let's play 'happiness basketball' with 'archery basketball'... KBL Goyang Sono launches"

We will do our best to take the fans, the Sono family, and everyone else on a very special basketball journey together."

They smile. Both players and coach are smiling. The Goyang Sono Skingunners have taken their first steps after leaving behind the disastrous past of Day One Sports (Carrot), which was the first team to be suspended from the Korean Basketball League (KBL) since its inception. The players, head coach, and coaching staff have been retained, but the team has changed completely. At the inauguration ceremony at Sonocam Hotel in Goyang City on the 20th, the entire venue was colored in light blue. Light blue is a complementary color to orange (Day One's symbol color).

Sono is a new club created by Sono International (Chairman Seo Jun-hyuk), the holding company of Daemyung Sono Group, after acquiring Day One. Day One, which announced a new start by acquiring the Goyang Orion last season, ran into financial difficulties and was eventually expelled from the league due to poor management, including unpaid wages. The ecosystem of 10 professional basketball clubs was on the verge of collapse, but the worst was averted when Sono stepped in as the acquiring company. 바카라사이트

Sono was approved as a new member by the KBL Board of Directors on July 21, keeping all of its players and hometown (Goyang) and bringing in head coach Kim Seung-ki. Sono's emblem, unveiled at the inauguration ceremony, is a cannonball in the sky with a basketball symbol, representing the meaning of the team's name, "Skygunners," which means "shooters in the sky. The name of the parent company, Sono, is a transliteration of the Italian word "Sogno" (dream).

Coach Kim took the stage at the founding ceremony and declared the unchanged direction of "Kim Seung Ki-pyo Basketball," saying, "We are a team that can shoot three points at any time as long as we cross the halfway line in line with the team emblem. When broadcaster Kim Yong-man, who hosted the event, asked him, "If (the players) really shoot right over the halfway line, you won't blame them," he replied, "That's what we're practicing. There are many players who can do it, and I'm lenient about shooting," he said.

Kim's teams have always played sharpshooter basketball. Last season, Day One averaged 34.9 three-point attempts and 11.5 makes per regular-season game. That was well ahead of second-place Anyang's Jung Kwan-jang (26.4 attempts, 8.9 made). Adding a touch of archery basketball to his physical defense, Day One overcame a pre-season assessment of being the weakest team in the league last season to reach the top four of the playoffs despite the parent company's mismanagement.

The players have also renewed their resolve. Captain Kim Kang-sun said, "The fans helped us a lot during the tough times. This time, we will show them basketball that gives them more control." Kim Min-wook, who joined the team as a free agent in May, said, "I really wanted to play basketball with coach Kim Seung-ki again. I am grateful to the owner for fulfilling that wish, and I will contribute to making the team a prestigious club despite the late start."
