This Is The Toto Asia Case Study You'll Never Forget
The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding its production facilities abroad, and doing business in France and Germany, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. North America was seen as a market that would grow for bidet and washlet toilet seats, in contrast to its "base" markets in Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto recorded Toto words to ensure that the future generation could understand them. However, many words were being replaced by foreign ones, such as dui from Bengali for verandah.
Origins
The early history of Toto, which began in 1917, was a reflection of Japan's economic expansion. In the first half of 1917, Toto made goods to meet the demand for modern, brand new urban housing. It used the first tunnel kiln in the country to produce ceramics continuously. It also pioneered automation for production control, allowing greater efficiency and a more consistent production.
The company began expanding overseas in the late 1980s to profit from new markets and sales opportunities. The company founded the Cera Trading Company to import and sell other manufacturers' products in order to complement its own line of sanitary earthenwares and plumbing fittings. This strategy boosted sales and increased the firm's global market share.
By the 1990s, Toto had shifted its emphasis on research and development for household appliances that are water-related. It also improved its distribution system to better serve the needs of its customers and boost profits. The company implemented a just-in-time approach to supply chain management, and it used the same approach in its sales strategy. This resulted in a greater level of satisfaction of customers.
Toto continues to invent toilet technology. The most recent toilet features a strong, eco-friendly tornado flush. The company uses recycled water in its manufacturing process, and has a green buying policy. Apart from toilets, Toto manufactures bathtubs and faucets, as well as hand dryers that are more efficient in terms of energy consumption than standard models.
The first Toto museum opened in the year 2015. It features exhibits on the most iconic products of Toto and their evolution, the group companies (all of which are made of ceramics), the history of plumbing, and even bath units. In an additional gallery, you will find Toto products that are sold across the world. The museum also has a bathroom with a washbasin and other toilet innovations.
Before the formation of Toto members of the group did sessions for a variety of musicians. Boz Scaggs' album Silk Degrees featured keyboardist David Paich, guitarists Mike Porcaro & Steve Lukather, drummers Jeff Porcaro & Steve Lukather. They also performed on albums by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
With a name as evocative as Asia one would expect the group to be prog kings and queens but they're actually a pretty straight forward rock band. The group began as a quartet, and they recorded two albums: 1979's self-titled debut and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. The band has a varied musical background but their biggest success was in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a major blockbuster but not without its difficulties. The record companies placed the band under pressure to deliver a hit single or else they would pull them. Luckily for Toto they did, with the assistance of the smash single "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery owes a lot to their previous experience in the music industry, as the band members had been session musicians for artists like Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, and Seals and Crofts prior the group. Their distinctive sound has become the standard of the '80s, and has influenced many contemporary artists.
The album opens up hard with songs such as Running Out of Time or Unknown Soldier that show the band's ability to write great AOR tunes that slowly creep into your head. But the album also contains some slower, more jazzy tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. The album concludes with Great Expectations. This song is a mix of folk and distortion AOR that could appear completely unnatural, but actually works extremely well.
After Toto IV the band's fortunes started to plummet. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career and the band had to go through various drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the band after drug charges. 스포츠토토 사이트 continued to play with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.
Despite the turbulence, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation however, which was not as successful as IV. However, the band still managed to release another chart-topping album in 1992, Kingdom of Desire. The album was the last of Toto's lineup and the debut of Simon Phillips, a new singer.

The band has a wide repertoire, and its catalog has been heard over a billion times on streaming services around the world. The band's music has influenced multiple generations of fans.
Steve Lukather and Joe Williams have developed a deep and vibrant friendship that flourishes professionally on a worldwide basis. In 2018, the duo celebrated 40 Tours Around the Sun with a massively successful global tour. The album with the same name reached #5 on Billboard 200. The band's latest tour includes their greatest hits and rarely-performed live deep cuts and some songs from Lukather's and Williams' individual catalogues.

Line-up
The album's third, Turn Back, marked a return to the classic sextet style of the previous albums. It was a more ferocious, consistent effort that had a harder edge than Hydra. The more edgier sound of Turn Back reflected the growth of the band. Drummer Bobby Kimball's increased virtuosity was reflected by the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had become more confident and mature. David Paich's keyboard skills were also sharper, more complex and less akin to earlier efforts.
After touring to promote their album, the group recorded the band's Amsterdam live show that was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set entitled Falling In Between. The studio album came out shortly after, and the band embarked on a world-wide tour to promote it. In this time, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes filled in for Paich, and bassist David Hungate left the group to spend more time with his family.
In 1998, Paich and Lukather started exploring old demos and tapes in search of a new album featuring songs that had never been recorded before. The album was released in the form of a double-album called Then and Now in 2001. It was the band's first album that did not contain a single song titled "A". The album also contained an previously unreleased track called "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth record, Old Is New was an uncommercial success and vocalist Williams was suffering from laryngitis, which limited his singing ability. In addition, Hungate returned to Nashville, while drummer Leland Sklar was replaced by Shem von Schroeck.
Downes and the other original members of Asia--Wetton, Palmer, and Howe--convened a meeting in England in the beginning of 2006 to discuss the possibility of officially restructuring the band. This lineup, minus Howe who was working with Yes during that time, was renamed Toto XIV. They toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The group also had a guest appearance by singer Michael McDonald, and a backing singer named Mabvuto Carpenter.
