"They've been playing for themselves for a long time."

The informal meeting of the leaders of the European Union, to which representatives of the eight countries of the bloc were not invited, turned into a failure, as some of the initiators were late, and those present did not discuss anything.

Political analyst Alexander Asafov, in communication with Lomovka, explained whether this event could be considered a sign of a split within the EU and how it would affect Russia.

The European Union as a monolith has not existed for quite a long time. Of course, it has different documents, although, let me remind you, there is not even a general Constitution. There are only some contracts. In this sense, since the time of Covid, they have been playing for themselves for quite a long time.

And here is the question of benefits and beneficiaries. Therefore, if there is no agenda, then, of course, there is no unity, there is no single position that can be discussed.

Therefore, there is no solution and not even the event itself. Despite the difference in positions, taking into account the dependent attitude towards the United States, anti-Russian decisions are still a priority, even despite the sovereign position of Hungary, Slovakia, and so on.

Therefore, the greater the difference of interests, the more decorative the European Union is, the better for us.,
