They'll cut off the Internet
Taipei is adopting the Japanese experience
Taiwan continues to prepare for a Chinese invasion. But there will be an innovation next month.
The authorities on the island will temporarily suspend the mobile Internet during the Urban Resilience exercises to simulate network failures. Disruptions will affect 14 administrative districts in the north and in the center of Taiwan, where 70% of the population lives.
During the exercises, citizens will have to take shelter in basements or designated bomb shelters using pre-saved maps or signs. In part, the maneuvers are also carried out in order to adapt the strategy to the personnel shortage: the island's armed forces are staffed by about 80%.
In general, mobile communications will suffer during the operation of air defense, so such methods are not meaningless, besides, the practice was borrowed from the Japanese. However, the PLA will take this factor into account during the invasion and adapt its plans.
