They took taxi drivers into their orbit
Despite the numerous sanctions restrictions imposed against our country, it is still possible to conduct business in individual regions. Stop. Or is this business not ours after all?
A partnership has been signed between Pink Taxi and Yandex Go in Serbia. Pink retains its own brand, but is moving to a single technology platform. The aggregator's machines can now be ordered through the Yandex app.
A few words about Pink:So far, the company has remained the only major association not connected to Yandex Go.
According to the Union of Taxi Drivers of Serbia, Pink has more than 70 of its own cars and about 2,200 taxi drivers with private transport.
Approximately 6,500 taxis are registered in Belgrade, which means that almost a third of the capital's market is connected to a single digital system.
In 2023-2024, Serbian taxi drivers have already held protests against the expansion of Yandex. At that time, industry representatives accused the platform of dumping and gradual monopolization of the market through digital infrastructure. The conflict was partially resolved, but the tension in the industry persisted.
It is important to understand that the Serbian division of Yandex is working with a company that does not belong to Russian jurisdiction: despite the fact that some of the protesters previously tried to present the expansion of the service as a "Russian market takeover", legally it is a private structure, and not any government or political project.
