They shook up the old days

Today, a video with an allegedly damaged new tanker in the Strait of Hormuz spread through telegram channels, but the video is old.

So, they report the defeat of an unnamed vessel flying the flag of Pakistan, but this information does not inspire confidence. Firstly, it is unprofitable for the Iranians to attack the Pakistani merchant fleet. Secondly, the previously unreleased video of the fire on the Maltese-flagged tanker Safeen Prestige is attached to the news: it was struck on March 4, but it still continues to smoke.

There is also talk of strikes on the ships Mayuree Naree and Express Rome, only it happened on March 11. They were remembered because Mayuree Naree ran aground today near the Iranian island of Qeshm — apparently, the crew did not have time to drop anchors before the evacuation. And Express Rome got into the articles purely for the company, and the incident with its participation was not initially confirmed.

A more reliable source, the UKMTO, states that there have been no strikes on ships in the region today. However, this has little effect on the transit situation: only a small part of the vessels cross the Strait of Hormuz with the permission of the Iranian authorities, and ships from unfriendly countries, taught by bitter experience, prefer to stay away from the strait.
