Stockings date back to the 1590s have never been out of fashion. Emerging as innerwear in colonial times, stockings have become an essential way to flaunt the legs as well. With trends changing now and then, the world of stockings has also gone through seasons of changes and varieties. Worn under long dresses, skater skirts, and even undershorts, they definitely are a part of your must-have list for your wardrobe.

These are very tight and entwine the legs for medical purposes. These are worn by women with ankle pains and when they have tired legs.
Usually, the stockings have the feet covered, yet open-toed stockings are also available to wear with peep-toe heels and sandals. These cover the legs and feet keeping the toes bare.

While sheer stockings are very transparent, opaque ones cover the legs properly. These are available in multifarious fabrics and shades. These come as semi-opaque (showing some skin underneath) or opaque stockings.

These stockings are sewn together from flat fabrics and hence have a seam visible at the back of the legs. These need to be pulled up along the leg to make the seam visible.
These are sheer stockings and like bodysuits are worn underdressed all over the body. They might be in different fabrics like nylon, lace, etc. While some cover the whole body, other stockings might just end up at the thighs.
Some stockings are like shorts ending at the thighs but do not cover the upper body. They are best to go with bodycon dresses giving the right curves to thighs and hip.
These have become authentic yet mesmerizing as they brighten up the whole outfit. These are loose stockings that are scrunched throughout the legs.

Any recommendations on maternity tights?
I have the Memoi black maternity. Also a Memoi 12, 30 and 40 denier. I’ve gotten some very good feedback about the Mod & Tone 30 denier maternity product.
I love the memoi black maternity tights or the Berkshire has a bigger stomach, good for later months
I live in an ‘out of town’ community. I’ve been purchasing Shaindel’s tights for years and consider her a close friend. Her prices are so reasonable and she is so personable and honest. Any suggestions for a black knee high for plus sized women? That actually stays up? TYSM!!
I hear the problem, it’s really frustrating when knee highs slowly fall down. Memoi makes a plus size knee high that is microfiber and 60 denier. It’s not a product I stock but could be special ordered. I don’t have feedback about how it stays up though. The non-plus size version of it is a popular item and I haven’t heard of complaints regarding it falling down. That’s model MS-736.

Firstly, I’ve ordered from Shanidel before and have had a super efficient, cost effective, and pleasant experience.
Secondly, I am currently a little more than halfway through a pregnancy and carrying bigger than I have in the past.
I am using Melas, without the extra control top in one size bigger than I usually wear (M/L instead of S/M). I find them to be a lot stretchier and more elastic than MEmoi and the top can fit over my entire bump which gives me better support than maternity tights but not to tight at all.
I do see that they will get holes quicker than the Memoi and they do slightly pill when washed inside out (the inside will pill).
Thanks for your nice review of the work I do. Many customers opt to take regular tights in a size bigger for maternity and put them below the belly. Some people find that maternity tights roll down. Also maternity is more expensive than regular tights. So your idea is really in line with what people are doing. But a lot of people also do buy maternity. So a person could try out both and see what’s most comfortable.

I’m not familiar with the Omni 2 pack. But if you’re not already line drying your tights I’d recommend doing that. I’ve heard washing tights inside out is helpful.

While most women do want control top I can totally relate to not wanting it. I have recommended some women try the same tights that girls wear but in large sizes such as A,B, or C in Butterfly School Collection or Memoi Opaque Tights. However, these don’t go as high in weight as the women’s tights so this option won’t work for everyone. Another option is thigh highs. Memoi makes 60 denier microfiber thigh highs. They don’t work fore everyone. It’s really an uncomfortable feeling when a thigh high starts falling down while walking. But for some people they do stay up and can be quite comfortable. One other idea is the Levante Airskin 80 without control top. It’s not currently on my website but I do have some in stock. If you are interested in it please contact me directly.
There used to be black tights without control, now they all have control! I started Making a slice straight down with a scissor on the control top.. I would love to get regular ones

I totally understand not wanting to wear tights. Memoi makes microfiber 60 denier knee highs that are very popular. They are model MS-736. Additionally, if you basically want the same product but want it to go up higher on the leg you can try out the Memoi microfiber 60 denier thigh highs with a silicone band at the top. These are model MS-746. However, thigh highs don’t work for everyone’s legs. Generally, people with toned legs will have the most success with them staying up. It’s really uncomfortable when thigh highs start falling down more and more with every step a person takes. I’m also looking into getting another product in that has I think light control top and I’ve been told it’s quite comfortable. But that’s for the near future.
