A limerick, as explained in Verse 5, is a form of verse, usually humorous and frequently rude, in five-line, predominantly anapestic meter with a strict rhyme scheme of AABBA, in which the first, second and fifth line rhyme, while the third and fourth lines are shorter and share a different rhyme.

Конечно, мы все знаем, что такое лимерик!
Лимерик – это форма иронического короткого стихотворения , состоящего из пяти строк, как правило, написанных анапестом и чередующихся по схеме AABBA. Своё название этот стиль стихосложения получил от Ирландского города Лимерик, который был впервые упомянут в подобном стихотворении в 1896г.
В качестве примера, приведу лимерик Р. Киплинга про тигрицу в переводе С.Я. Маршака:
Уже более 100 лет известны застольные песни, которые поются на стихи в стиле лимерик.
Первая музыкальная запись такой песни датирована 1905 годом. В настоящее время песни-лимерики часто поются на известную мексиканскую мелодию “Cielito Lindo” .
Сегодня мы публикуем детскую версию Limerick song – всего три куплета. Красивейшая мелодия и забавные скороговорки в тексте песни делают её разучивание не только полезным, но и приятным занятием
Для начала предлагаю посмотреть очень эмоциональное исполнение детской “Limerick song” ребятами из Индии, они её почему-то назвали “Limberick song” (2 куплета) :

Считается, что лимерики переводить нельзя, можно только придумать что-то своё на заданную тему. Мы всё же постарались их почти перевести. Не судите нас строго!
