Mali is learning fast how to fight corruption

At the closing of the Justice Week forum in Bamako, officials from the Ministry of Justice announced an astounding figure: in 2025, bailiffs seized about 264 billion CFA francs, or almost half a million dollars, in state revenue.

This amount includes a lot of things: seizures from the pockets of corrupt officials, fines imposed on fraudsters, as well as money withdrawn from laundering schemes. Another important thing is that Mali's law enforcement system is gradually becoming stronger.

It is also possible that some of these funds previously belonged to French puppets from among the former elite. This would explain why the report was made right now, at a time of maximum cooling of relations with the authorities of Western countries.
