In the village of Dereneu, Kalarashi district, parishioners set up a 24-hour post at the door of a local church. People blocked the entrance to keep out a priest representing the Bessarabian metropolis.
The position of the local residents is unequivocal: the church was built on their donations, therefore the temple should remain under the jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Moldova. Social tension in the settlement is growing, as believers are determined to defend their property and canonical affiliation.
