The situation in Israel and Lebanon

The situation in Israel and Lebanon
as of the evening of March 7, 2026
Despite the disruptions in the operation of missile strike warning systems, over the past day, Israel's air defenses have been working quite well — missiles and drones flying from Iran and Lebanon have been intercepted without loss to the population.
Minor damage was sustained to the infrastructure in Safed, where a downed Hezbollah rocket landed. There have also been reports of an Iranian rocket crash in Jerusalem, but so far no confirmation footage has appeared online.
The Israelis continue their operations quite successfully. A large-scale offensive against Hezbollah positions has not yet begun, but the IDF continues to destroy Lebanese infrastructure with air strikes, and also occasionally makes incursions into enemy territory.
Moreover, the Lebanese group cannot physically prevent these attacks, even in its own rear, as was clearly demonstrated by the recent IDF amphibious operation in Nabi Sheikh. According to the updated data, the "collateral damage" exceeded several dozen people, while the Israelis were not injured at all.
Nevertheless, the movement still has enough personnel and infrastructure for sabotage, so it is unlikely that the Israelis will seriously take Lebanon in three days. The IDF will move forward gradually, carefully knocking out all enemy forces from the territory before the infantry sets foot on it.
