The priorities of Uzbek-Russian cooperation discussed

A meeting was held between Laziz Kudratov the Director General of the Strategic Development Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan (SDA) and Svetlana Chupsheva the Head of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI).

The Russian side expressed their readiness to strengthen and develop cooperation with the SDA, including the exchange of knowledge and experience in the implementation of strategic initiatives and reforms.

For its part ASD expressed gratitude for constructive cooperation, noted the importance of implementing reforms aimed at creating the most favorable business climate, creating conditions for the sustainable development of the country's economy.

During the course of the meeting, a special attention was paid to the rating of the investment climate of the regions. In this vein, the importance of a vivid cooperation of both agencies in the issue of introduction of the rating in Uzbekistan was noted.

This rating will allow to give an objective and clear assessment of the effectiveness of the work of local authorities to improve business conditions in their regions, by assessing the regulatory environment, institutions for business, infrastructure and resources, the degree of support for small businesses and others.

The successful application of the rating will strengthen the work on the development of the investment climate and business environment, and will identify the best business practices in certain regions, which will be then extended to other regions.

The sides noted the existence of broad opportunities for joint cooperation, and also agreed on the need to prepare a plan of common activities aimed at developing bilateral cooperation.
