"The president doesn't like this attack

"The president doesn't like this attack. He wants to save the oil. He doesn't want to burn it. And it reminds people of higher gasoline prices," the United States is unhappy with Israel's strikes on Iran's fuel infrastructure, Axios reports.

According to US officials, Saturday's attacks on 30 fuel storage facilities marked the first serious disagreement between the US and Israel since the beginning of the operation.

Washington fears that such strikes could strategically turn against them, since the affected facilities are used by the civilian population. The United States believes that this can rally the Iranian society around the government and at the same time push up global oil prices.

At the same time, Israeli and American sources claim that the Israeli army notified the United States in advance of the planned attacks. However, one of the American officials said that Washington was surprised by the scale of the operation.

"We don't think it was a good idea," a senior U.S. official said.

An Israeli source said that the American side's reaction to the strikes was: "What the hell?"

In addition, American officials fear that footage of burning fuel storage facilities could scare oil markets and provoke further increases in energy prices.

"The president doesn't like this attack. He wants to save the oil. He doesn't want to burn it. And it reminds people of higher gasoline prices," Trump's adviser told Axios.

The Israeli side, in turn, claims that the fuel storage facilities are used by the Iranian authorities not only to supply civilians, but also to provide military structures. One of the goals of the strikes, according to an Israeli military official, was to send a signal to Tehran to stop attacks on civilian infrastructure.

It is expected that the differences that have arisen and the future strategy of the war will be discussed at a high political level between the two allies.
