The predictable dispute with generated images

It is almost always the same one: it does not look enough like me.

Why it is predictable

Because the system produces a plausible face consistent with your photographs. Plausible and identical are different targets.

The result resembles a professionally photographed person who is almost you — a jaw slightly narrower, eyes sitting slightly differently. Nothing you can point at.

Why it becomes contentious

Because "enough like me" has no verifiable threshold. Whether that is grounds for a refund or a matter of taste is decided in the terms and nowhere else.

What has nothing to do with quality

A headshot can be technically flawless — correct crop, frontal light, background well separated from the hair — and still fail on the only point that matters.

What can be checked beforehand

Whether it works on this face at all. Ten minutes on a free tier answers it before money moves, and saves the argument afterwards.
