The new Jeep Avenger electric SUV in Paris

The compact Jeep Avenger is the spearhead of a range of performance and fully electric vehicles, with measures designed for the European market, and represents a critical element of the global electrification strategy of the brand, which aims to become the world leader in SUVs. Designed and built like a Jeep vehicle from day one, the Avenger encapsulates the brand's DNA in a compact SUV with a unique blend of capability, style, functionality, and technology to meet the needs of always-connected customers.

Manufactured in the highly efficient Stellantis plant in Tychy, Poland, the new Jeep Avenger is equipped with Selec-Terrain and Hill Descent Control as standard, along with the vehicle's exceptional angles of attack and exit and ground clearance, introducing excellent capacity levels in the segment. As for electrification, the Jeep Avenger is equipped with a new-generation 400-volt electric propulsion system, which combines a new electric motor and a new battery. Using a 100 kW direct current Mode 4 cable connected to the fast public charging point, three minutes of charging are enough to travel 30 km, or 24 minutes to charge the batteries from 20 to 80%.

Developed with the specific needs of European customers in mind, the new Avenger is a compact SUV that, at just four meters long, is positioned in the fast-growing B-SUV segment, the second-largest in Europe. By 2023, the B-SUV segment will reach 2.2 million total annual sales, equal to one in five European vehicles. The new Jeep Avenger is positioned below the Jeep Renegade in the B-SUV segment, complementing the Jeep brand's offering.

The Jeep Avenger is equipped with a new electric propulsion system that combines a new electric motor and battery. Thanks to the high power and torque and a specific tuning of the electric powertrain, the new Avenger offers uncompromising driving pleasure both on and off-road. The second-generation 400-volt electric powertrain is the first launched by Emotors, a joint venture between Stellantis and Nidec Leroy-Somer Holding. It delivers 115 kW, corresponding to 156 horsepower, and 260 Nm of maximum torque. The new 54 kWh battery, also produced by Stellantis, offers a high energy density and an excellent ratio between nominal and usable energy. In particular, the battery pack consists of 17 modules and 102 cells that use the NMC 811 lithium-ion model and offer 400 km of autonomy in the WLTP cycle, which increases to 550 km in the urban cycle.

The battery, tested for over 2 million kilometers, is highly compact, non-intrusive, and fits under the front and rear seats and the central tunnel. In addition, when driving off-road, it is protected by a high ground clearance and underbody plates. Charging the new Jeep Avenger is very simple. Using a 100 kW DC Mode 4 cable connected to the fast public charging point, three minutes is enough to travel 30 km or 24 minutes to charge the batteries from 20% to 80% capacity. Considering that European users drive an average of 30 km per day, the vehicle is likely to be driven for days before needing to be recharged. Meanwhile, with an 11 kW Mode 3 AC power cable connected to a Wallbox or public charging station, it is possible to "fill up" (from 0% to 100%) in 5.5 hours.

An essential pillar of a Jeep SUV is its off-road capability, which now includes a more sustainable approach thanks to 4x4 plug-in hybrid technology and fully electric powertrains. The new Avenger is the first front-wheel drive Jeep vehicle to feature Select-Terrain and Hill Descent Control as standard, which, combined with the vehicle's exceptional approach, exit angles, and ground clearance, make it a reference model for the segment.

The vehicle's design makes it as small as possible without losing any features that make it a Jeep. The new Avenger is only 4.08 meters long, 16 centimeters shorter than the Renegade. It has short front and rear overhangs that enhance its proportions. It also stands out on the road because it has bigger wheels than you would expect for a car this size. Thanks to the combination of short overhangs and large wheels, the Avenger offers best-in-class ground clearance (200 mm), as well as unique approach (20 °), ramp (20 °), and exit (32 °) angles, which are essential for off-road driving but also valuable for the city.

The interior of the all-new Jeep Avenger is true to the "design to function" promise. The clean and solid interior design is based on the history of the Jeep brand and, in particular, the Jeep Wrangler. It is centered on the dashboard, which is simple and easy to use. Once inside the vehicle, the eyes are immediately captured by the upper part of the dashboard, where a single horizontal functional band emerges that includes all the vents, the ambient light, and a central 10.25-inch touchscreen, visible to both the driver and the passenger. The lower part of the dashboard features an open storage shell.

The new Jeep Avenger also offers a suite of services and features that users can take advantage of remotely. In particular, thanks to the Jeep Mobile App, users can locate the position of their car directly from their smartphone. Users can also lock and unlock doors, check battery levels, set climate functions, charge the vehicle, and interact directly with the Avenger through a voice assistant.
