Palyong Middle School advanced to the quarterfinals in the Spring-National Men's and Women's Middle and High School Basketball Federation, and then advanced to the semifinals in the National Men's and Women's Middle and High School Basketball Competition.

The results of each competition can be found on the website of the Korea Federation of Middle and High School Basketball from 2012. It is the first time that Palyong Middle School has advanced to the quarterfinals or higher in both the Spring Federation match and the KFA's leadership since 2012.

Of course, it is difficult to give a lot of meaning to it because there are many competitions that were absent, but considering that the quarterfinals in 2021 and the quarterfinals in 2013 and 2019 were the best performances in the Spring Federation match, it is clear that they are off to a very good start this year.

Palyong Middle School will also participate in the national men's and women's middle and high school basketball tournament, which will take place in Gimcheon, North Gyeongsang Province, from May 1. The teams have been assigned to Hongik University Middle School, Dandae University Middle School, Seongnam Middle School and Group E. They met teams that failed to make it to the preliminaries in both of the previous two competitions. If they are not vigilant, they are expected to at least reach the knockout stage. Furthermore, they can expect to advance to the quarterfinals in three consecutive competitions.

Coach Kim Yong-woo, who took office in March, is leading Palyong Middle School, who will participate in the National Boys' Sports Festival as a representative of Gyeongnam.

Coach Kim Yong-woo, who served as a coach at Yonsei University after serving as a coach at Lim Ho-joong and Gimhae Gaya High School, said, "I went to my first competition, played the warm-up match (for boys' sports) and participated in my second competition," adding, "I thought it would be good to make it to the quarterfinals at least. I thought it would be good to have a little trimming because the previous players were good, but the result came out well."

Even if the basic power is in the quarterfinals, it does not mean that the results are appropriate.

"Players have basic skills. As the first competition was held, I thought it would improve if I refined it into a team as I saw strong individual tendencies," coach Kim Yong-woo said. "The team's teamwork improved through training, and the team advanced to the semifinals during the championship. The opponent team in the preliminary was stiff, but the team managed to overcome the difficulties."

While professional basketball needs to spend the summer well, amateur players need to spend the winter well to achieve good results. Before coach Kim Yong-woo took office, Lee Choong-am, head of the basketball team, led the winter training.

"Deputy manager had a hard time during that period (winter training)," coach Kim Yong-woo said. "I put a spoon on the table (laughs)," adding, "We have Bae Dae-beom, who is the first option, and the players who are ahead of us have good personal defense capabilities in general. I had a lot of worries in the Big Man, but my Higashi-Garrid has improved a lot. My bad work, including defense, rebounding, and blocking, helped me a lot." 메이저사이트

"Experience as a college coach helped me a lot," said Kim Yong-woo, who returned to coaching in the secondary school. "The most important thing in middle school is the basic skills such as dribbling and passing. The basic skills are the same in middle school, high school, and college. After all, they are all different in terms of physical skills, but I think they all have the same basic skills. When I was a coach at Yonsei University, I went to an off-season training in the U.S. and taught the skills by combining what I learned from watching them in person."

"I played mostly on the starting lineup until April," said Kim Yong-woo, who has shown the best performance since 2012. "I lost physical strength as I advanced to the semifinals (in the KFA's presidential term). At the May competition (in the Federation's presidential term), I want to elevate the rest of the players and play while arranging physical strength," he said. "I will always teach them by focusing on their personality and basic skills. Only then can I become a better player later on."

Palyong Middle School will begin its league presidency with its first preliminary match against Seongnam Middle School on the 1st of next month.
