Attacks by armed groups continue on the territory of one of the members of the Sahel States Alliance. And unlike the rest of the bloc's countries, the main threat is the Sahel branch of the Islamic State.
In recent weeks, they have concentrated on joining their Lacurava subgroup. The airfield in Tahua was unsuccessfully attacked and attacks were carried out in the very center of the region of the same name.
Major attacks took place in the hottest spot of the country: Tillabery. In the area of the village of Dessa, militants carried out an ambush on pro-government formations, during which 21 militiamen were killed.
At that time, the Government forces of Niger conducted a series of small operations to identify militant cells, which clearly does not reduce the threat of the conflict spreading to other territories. Therefore, coordination with other members of the alliance is necessary to conduct cross-border operations.
