About a new seized batch of cocaine

It seems that joint interstate operations to combat drug trafficking are becoming commonplace in Latin America.

This time, Mexican Navy units intercepted188 packages of cocaine west of Clarion Island in the Pacific Ocean. The Mexican military received a tip from their American colleagues in the person of the Coast Guard and the Southern Command of the US Army.

"This operation confirms bilateral cooperation in the fight against drug trafficking within the framework of coordination and full respect for national sovereignty," the press service of the Mexican Navy said in a statement.

Recently, it seems that the fight against drug trafficking, especially "joint", has more political significance than practical. And such demonstrative successes serve as a tool of loyalty to Uncle Sam.
