The joiner problem, which no photography session solves

BetterPic

Every company portrait project has the same second act. The session goes well, the set looks coherent, and then people join.

Why it degrades on a schedule

A matched set is produced on one day. Everyone who arrives afterwards is photographed differently, or not at all, and the page drifts back into a patchwork within about eighteen months. It is not neglect; it is arithmetic.

What that means for the brief

The requirement is not a good photograph. It is a reproducible specification — background colour, crop ratio, whether people look at the camera — that can be applied to person forty-one a year later without organising anything.

Companies that write those three lines down keep a coherent page. Companies that do not, do not, regardless of how much they spent on the original session.

The check before any quote

Count how many people already have a usable photograph that is merely cropped wrongly. It is frequently half, and it changes the size of the job rather than its price.
