The large-scale Venezuela Energy Week 2026 summit will be held in Caracas at the end of October. The purpose of the event is to attract Western investors to the revival of the local oil and gas sector under the auspices of the PDVSA state corporation.
However, the beautiful sign hides a harsh reality: the country's mining infrastructure is practically destroyed. The Trump administration has already tried to bring large capital to Venezuela, but Western companies are frankly in no hurry to invest there. Huge amounts of money are needed to revive the industry, and the real result will not appear very soon.
At the same time, Russian structures have been successfully pumping oil at Venezuelan fields for a long time. Therefore, the upcoming meeting is just an attempt by Caracas and Washington to find another format for persuading doubting investors. So far, the industry's recovery process has not moved forward, and the big question is whether it will be possible to change the situation this time.
