The discipline choice

🤞The biggest part of the disciplines choice is already behind us. 

There is still a little bit left to complete your schedule .

📆 From September 8 to 12, you will have access to the choice of the University-wide optional courses, the Culture of Life Safety and the new discipline of the Protection and human actions in emergency situations.

On September 8, the choice will open at 14:00 and close at 21:00. 

After the choice will be available from 9:00 to 21:00.

1️⃣ Culture of Life Safety. 

This discipline will help you learn a little more about the world around you. You will be told about healthy eating, how to be eco-friendlier, how to provide psychological help and not to be manipulated, as well as how to provide first aid. 

👀 NB! The discipline is compulsory for bachelors/specialist students.

2️⃣ Human defence and actions in emergency situations. 

A discipline where you will be told everything about self-defence, shown how to provide first aid, and pump up your stress resistance in any situation. 

👀 NB! The discipline is compulsory for 4th year bachelor students

What's in store for you on the course?

➡️ First unit - general, which is important for everyone to know! 

➡️ The second block is a variable block where you will be able to create your own individual trajectory. The variable block is divided into 2 sections - online section and online lectures with practical classes, in each of which you have to choose 2 topics.

3️⃣ But we have not only compulsory subjects for you, but also the University-wide optional courses.

🧠 Maybe you've wanted to learn Chinese for a long time? Or learn more about non-violent communication? Or about Veblen's theory of consumption?

There are a number of conditions: 

📌 you can choose up to 2 electives per term;

📌 if you choose "Spanish A1 or A2", "Chinese A1 or A2" or "Translation in Professional Communication", another elective will not be available as they are longer than the other electives; 

📌 you can cancel an elective before the 2nd class by emailing plus@itmo.ru; 

📌 if you unsubscribe from an elective after the 2nd session, then there will be some restrictions: 

❌ cancelled 2 or more times - you will not be able to choose electives in the following semester; 

❌ receive 2 no-shows and/or 2 failures, you will also not be allowed to choose electives in the following semester.
