Oleksiy Fartushka was born in 1990.

He graduated from Kharkiv National University of Arts named after I. P. Kotlyarevsky with the specialty “Choral conducting” in 2013, having received a master's degree with honors. Oleksiy Fartushka is a graduate of the famous professor Agnesa Anatoliyivna Miroshnikova.

He graduated from the assistantship-internship of the Kharkiv National University of Arts (a class of honored artist of Ukraine of professor S. M. Prokopov) in 2017.

He entered the graduate school to the department of Interpretology and analysis of music in 2017 (supervisor is doctor of arts, professor L. V. Shapovalova), where he works on his dissertation “Choral polyphony as a musical universal”. He has published the following scientific works: “Polyphonic concept of Lilacs Requiem by P. Hindemith in the aspect of innovative thinking” (2015), “Typological and individual in choral fugues by P. Hindemith” (2017), “Semantic function of choral polyphony in Canticum sacrum by I. Stravinsky” (2018), “Choral polyphony as a methodological problem of the contemporary research in choral singing” (2019).

He has been working as a lecturer at the department of Choral Conducting of the Kharkiv National University of Arts named after I. P. Kotlyarevsky since 2014, and as a senior lecturer since 2017. He has also been a teacher in the choir department of the Kharkiv Secondary Specialized Music Boarding School since 2015.

He has been led the folk art group Spring Voices Choir since May 2012.

Oleksiy Fartushka is a laureate of the 1st degree of the V All-Ukrainian competition of choral conductors (Kyiv), a participant of the V International Bach Academy (Donetsk), a participant of regional seminars for leaders of vocal choral groups (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019). Oleksiy Fartushka is also a member of the jury of the I and II open competitions of choral conductors within the open competition of young musicians and composers “Kharkiv Assemblies” and of the regional festival of world music named after M. Leontovych (2017, 2019).

Thanks to initiative of Oleksiy Fartushka, Spring Voices Choir received their own profiles in basic social media. The choir director has also a personal channel in Telegram (t.me/Choir4U), where he publishes exclusive materials on the theory of choral art and introduces modern performing practices to subscribers.
