Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu shot back to the top of the all-time live tournament money list after finishing second in the $100,000 Super High Roller event at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure on January 8.

Poker rival Phil Ivey had led Negreanu in live tournament money winnings since early 2010, but the Canadian Team PokerStars Pro hit back with a fourth-place finish at EPT Vienna for a six-figure score in October 2010. Then, with his $1 million cash for coming second in the Super High Roller on Saturday, Negreanu's lifetime total hit $14,116,191, surpassing Ivey's $13.86m by just over $250,000.

Negreanu said: "Eugene Katchalov is one of the best players in the world, hands down, so losing to him in such a prestigious event is nothing to be embarrassed about, I fought really hard but the cards didn't go my way. The million bucks doesn't suck, and I'm proud of the fact that the finish allowed me to retake Phil Ivey as the number one all-time money winner in tournament poker history. I hope and expect to battle Ivey for that distinction for the next 20 years or so."

The Super High Roller event featured the highest buy-in ever for a PokerStars tournament and attracted a field of 38 players
